wastegate signal line
4 Attachment(s)
The previous owner of my car ran the wastegate signal line from the actuator to the top of the intake. See the attached pictures.
I believe the installation manual from BEGi says to run the line from the actuator to the compressor right next to the actuator. Now the question I have is should the open connector on the compressor be sealed if not in use? I realize that may be a stupid question, but I have not seen it documented. I did put a cap on the end, but I just want to make sure that is correct. Thanks! |
Yes.

Another yes, just because. However, if I recall correctly, the optimal placement for the wastegate signal line is post-intercooler but pre-throttle body.

Yeah, that's not an ideal location, you want it about an inch or two forward. There's a sticky in the DIY turbo section titled "you don't need ebc" or something like that written by joe Perez that does a great job explaining the pros and cons of your locations, and one just before the throttle body. Which BTW, has no cons :)

Thanks for the info!

I moved the line to just after the IC. Do I need to adjust anything in the tune? It seems to run ok, but I just want to make sure.

Get an 1/8 NPT plug for the turbo compressor housing. It's more reliable than a cap on the outlet, and only costs like $2 at Home Depot Racing. |
