Default Where can I find an engine for a good price? / surface rust on pistons of old motor

My buddy's engine just went up, and I want to know where you all go to grab cheap engines with some life left on them? Any good online sources? I'm afraid that my local junkyards are going to come up short.

I have a motor from my wreck, but it has been sitting a while without plugs so some water has entered the motor. What is the likeliness of having damage if the oil is changed and the motor is thrown into another car?

there are quiet a few junkyards in the baltimore area on car-part.com, thats where i got most of mine when i liver there, plus the crazy rays in glenn burnie tends to have atleast a few BP based cars instock. motors are $250? if i remember correctly and come with a 30 day warranty.

as far as the watered motor if you can spin the crank freely it might very well work but i would not expect it to be a long lived motor.

The pistons won't have rust on them.

If the motor spins freely and isn't a short nose crank I'd run it.
