body color usually looks pretty nice. IMO black car=black paint, red car=red paint.

tho if you're 23c=still ghey no matter what

oh ho, hustler is back ^_^

My 99 has them black right now but I bought the sport brakes off a 01 and I am painting them silver. I have the 01 LS rims and the color match is pretty good so far. Still don't have them on the car yet, only have two of the four calipers done, but all of the rotors are done.

disturbedfan121 10-05-2008 01:26 AM

you painted your rotors????

cueball1 10-05-2008 03:03 PM

My brite green comment was actually smartass. Sorry.

If you're going to paint them I'd go for the dark bronze. Red is too poser, black too plain, any bright color too ricey. Bronze would look clean and tougher without being tacky.

Last time I put new rotors on I painted the hub areas, the outside edges and basically anything not swept by the pads to keep the rust down. Yeah I know rust is all manly but I drive a Miata. How manly can it get. I'd rather have it clean looking.

Fireindc 10-05-2008 03:09 PM

Pink calipers ftw, imo.

AlexandertheOk 10-05-2008 04:48 PM

black for the win!

naarleven 10-05-2008 04:52 PM

BBK or die

No painting of stock calipers unless its black imho.

KPLAFIN 10-05-2008 05:01 PM

Painting stock calipers is usually pretty gay in my opinion. I had to grind my 1.8 calipers down to get my 13" Panasports over them though, so once they started to get the rust look going on I painted them black.

I just cant bring myself to order the paint kit. They are brakes for gods sakes. 36 dollars to paint calipers to a non factory color is just so bleh. Even black, I mean shit they never came black on the car, ever, so why. How often does anyone even look at brakes. I don't. I couldnt care less what they look like, just how they stop.

I'd do what Koto did and return them back to the factory silver.

Who here actually has painted there calipers?

Fwiw, I voted silver in the poll.

They look great koto, if I were to paint mine they would def be silver or black. Though honestly the bronze didn't look bad either.

^hehe

Sam, what u doing man? Just go to Discount and get a can or 2 of the caliper paint. If you clean them up it'll work fine... Used it on 2 cars so far. No track time obviously.

Toddcod 10-07-2008 08:49 AM

Silver or something gold.

Machismo 10-07-2008 09:18 AM

My caliper paint has held up surprisingly well even after some abusive track sessions. Boiled the fluid and warped a rotor at Hallett, but calipers cleaned right up with no flaking.
