What seats fit and are cheap?
I've got a $1000 craigslist special miata. I don't like spending money on it. I basically bought it to be a drift missle and track *****. It's been pretty good at that but my upper back is getting ruined because the stock NA seats ******* SUCK.
What can I throw in on the cheap that has some semblance of lateral support?
Oh, 5'11" and 140lbs, so tiny seats are a bonus. Does anyone know if 240SX seats fit? They're **** too but if they fit it means that R32 GTR seats fit, and I can get one of those cheap as hell.
I am considering making a rollbar so I can put in a 5 point harness too, I keep thinking about how much I don't want my head to get squished if I manage to roll this thing while driving sideways at 70mph, and I'm sure that 5pt harness + no rollbar = certain death.

Miata seats need to be pretty skinny, the Elise seats are the best bet if you can find them. Sparco Roadster seats are the next best option but $500 each at best.
I got a set of cheap Recaros, used. Pretty sure they're the Pole Positions.

comfy on long drives?
I feel like just shipping a recaro from you to here will cost more than I wanna spend in total, but thanks anyways.
How are they for driving?
Same goes with elise seats. GL finding one for less money than I paid for the car.

I have these in 16''. It's a good race bucket for the price. I DD'd them for a while and hated life. They are in the attic now.

And you need a atleast a 5 point if you get a rollbar, because chances are the stock seatbelts wont work worth a ****.
EDIT: I'm 6'2 190lbs. And I got a fat *** like my momma. 16'' is snug.

I have the 15" kirkey intermediate road race seats in both my dad's 99 and my 91 for track days. They work awesome for track but suck as DD seats. I tried it for work and have to say there is no gracefull way of getting out of these seats unless the top is open. Not a DD seat, but they fit.
Most of the FIA seats I fit in are fairly comfortable once I actually get inside them. It's the ingress and egress that causes the problems.
I have Momo Super Cups in my car and they are pretty comfy. I drove them 500 miles without any problems. Braineack even said they were comfortable. I picked them up used for cheap and they use the stock sliders. I also know Momo Starts are reasonably cheap and fit.
If you want to be cheap, the free mod is to take the seat covers off and cut the foam out for the time being. Doing this to some NB2 seats would actually work out very well.
