Default white spark plugs

Hey guys so I have a 2004 MSM and I changed the spark plugs and when I looked at it its white/ashy. I know people will say I'm running lean, but when I'm driving and checking my AFR the ratio I'm getting is between 10.5-11.6 and I know that's pretty rich so, now I'm in a pickled on what's going on. wondering if someone can help me? the spark plugs were an NGK BKR7EIX-11iridium.

Ye Olde' Hayes Manual guide to reading sparkplugs is outdated. It was codified back when carbureted cars roamed the earth.

It's still useful, and reading plugs is still valid - but any plugs with miles on them are going to be white from cruise due to leaner fuel saving AFR's and fuel additives.

Nowadays, you can only realistically read a fresh plug - One that's only got a few minutes of runtime on it (or a single pass down a dragstrip). You can read old plugs but only looking for differences between them "this one is darker than the others" and scanning the porcelain for specs (detonation).
