Obviously its called a deep corn because it's got a deep dish to the wheel. By why would a steering wheel be called corn?

I have been google searching this crap and i can't figure it out. Such a wierd name.

Totally random.

Deep Core:

Deep corn:

Deep cone:

It's called "deep corn" for the same reason that we now have a virtual cryptocurrency based on a picture of a dog that the internet thinks is funny.

Srs answer:

It comes from a misinterpretation of Japanese.

The real name is “Deep Cone”, because of the conical shape of the steering wheel.
In Japanese, this is written as “ディープ コーン”, which is read phonetically as, “deepu kohn”.

The “コーン”, or “Kohn” is pronounced in the same way as “corn” in Japanese. I’m assuming a Japanese reseller had it written as “Deep Corn” because of this. A westerner saw it, and assumed they were called “Deep Corn”.

mt answer:because didlos.

Whoa that makes a lot of sense. Kinda wierd an italian company steering wheel would end up being called deep corn in engish because of a misinterpretation of japanese.

I kinda want a steering wheel that has corn on the cob grip now. hold the butter.
