Default Why i drive a miata!

Just thought Id post a few reasons why I own a miata.

1. Just posted a add in wtb for a coolant inlet houseing,
and within minutes i have someone (04miata) reply through M2cupcar because he dosnt have enough post to answer direct w/ a "Its yours" and then he calls me to get my address when i ask what i owe him he says a beer!!!(if im ever at the same place)so thanks a bunch 04miata..

2.If I ever need advice I know olderguy or braineack will be right there to answer.

3.I love beating the **** out of all the rednecks mustangs and cameros w/my 4 banger!!!!!!!!

If you have some reasoning for owning such a great car lets here them!

ROFL!

I got mine because it is the cheapest thing to track and DD for a college student, I am slapping on a turbo because the car is painfully slow on the street.

Most people underestimate them and label them "faggy", therefore making the car that much more rewarding in every way.

P.S. Girls absolutely love riding in them, driving or parked!

my GF hates riding in my car because of stiff springs and the fact that she knows I spend more money on it then her.

hehe mine whined because i had just bought a race seat for my driver's side and not the passenger, so i ended up getting another and now she can't stand riding more than 10 minutes in the car.

I got mine because I really wanted an old MG like the one my friend had 25 years ago, but I didn't want a rust bucket or to deal with Lucas electrics

Austins, Fiats, MGs, and the like in this area are all rusted out, or have been "restored", most to questionable standards (bondo=rust repair). Those are usually way overpriced as well. Parts are fairly expensive, and options for mods are nearly non existant.

My GF hated the 92.

It was fast but rought lol. Stiff springs, and matched shocks set the same as a track on the street. My AC worked 40% of the time in Texas heat, and it was loud after 3500 rpms lol.

She loves the 99 sport so much more.

Although I still get the "you spend to much on it" after such things as finding out how much I spent on r-compound tires when she needs new tires for her sentra

Rode in my buddies 93 turbo and was instantly sold :-) Spotted the '00 neglected in a dealer lot and got a deal -> won my GF over in it (now wife) , then added turbo, thoroughly wasted 6 of 8 sets of tires at the gap and the still get ~28mpg commuting while smoking 98% of the cars on the way in. It's reliable as hell - I don't know any car that would take this much pounding and not crap out (I thoroughly killed an early 90's eclipse turbo - think 2 motors, 1 turbo, cracked exhaust mani, blown 1st,2nd gear on two occasions and seized xfer case - it was an AWD turbo and stock at that and I didn't drive it anywhere near as hard as I do the miata).

I bought mine because I wanted a good track car for cheap.

I used to have a 240sx and after I built that car I realized I could have a car with the same amount of power, weigh 400-500 lbs less and have much better handling for the same amount of money. So I sold the 240 and have been building the miata with those proceeds.
