Default Winter Withdrawal

and I don't even put the car up for the winter!

I had the boost at 13psi for a couple weeks before I put the snow tires on, but then it got cold so I had to turn the EBC down to like 10psi and I've been working on other solutions since then so it's actually been at 7psi for almost a month now.

I miss being able to stomp on it and go instead of light the tires up. These snows suck, even at 7psi first and second are useless. Sometimes if the conditions are right, second will hook all the way through. It's been snowing here for a couple days now though, so I couldn't even test my MBC out last night. There was nowhere on any road that I could apply enough load to the motor to spool past about 6psi. In any gear.

Anyway, so that this isn't just a whiny pity-me thread: Who drives their turbo miata in the snow, and who doesn't?

I was going to add a poll to the thread, but I guess I can't since I didn't think of it until just now.

I'm not boosted, but this is the third winter that I've driven my miata. It's my only car, so I don't have a choice. I'd kill for a Torsen. I hate taking the entire length of a green light to move across an icy intersection. Never been stuck, though, and there has been a **** ton of snow here in WI this and last winters.

What's snow?

We took the boat out for a joyride in the bay last weekend.

Drive mine year round. Snow, ice, rain, sleet, hail, tornado, hurricane, freezing rain, mudslides, earthquakes, nuclear blasts. None of it slows down the awe-someness of the turbo Miata.

Loved driving a couple weeks ago with 6"+ deep, heavily rutted packed snow/ice with only 4" of ground clearance. Now I've gotta put in on a lift to see where the new exhaust leak is.

Daily driving a turbo miata in snow is not so fun.

I've got no problem driving in a couple inch storm, but sometimes you gotta know when to leave the car where it is. I cant count how many times I've come back to the shop and had to catch a ride with my bro and leave the miata at the shop. I hope to have another daily again soon to avoid driving the miata in the ****.

I had mine sitting in the driveway the other day and it saw rain for the first time ever since I have owned it.

My winter withdrawals are from not riding the motorcycle. The miata is my poor weather vehicle. But here winter gets no worse than a heavy downpour so it's all good.

Not even that much, seemed like I only had it running for a couple of weeks this past year. Less than 1000 miles on it this year. 2009 will be different.

I miss Seattle when I'm not here, but living here makes me miss Texas.

I just bought one here in Montreal. If they didn't put so much salt on the roads I would drive it year round. Car's rust so fast here if they are driven in the winter.

+1, if it's raining the Miata stays home. People here completely forget how to drive when it rains, so I feel safer in the Expedition.

I DD mine as it's my only car here at school. But we don't have snow here, or haven't yet. Rain still sucks though.
