So, I'm just re-installing my exhaust system after doing a clutch swap. I'm checking out my CAT, and it's looking awfully suspicious. This is a Hi Flow Flyin Miata unit which used to have stuff inside of it. Granted when I got my turbo setup, I had all kinds of issues with excess fuel, and exploding exhaust sounds . It used to glow red hot too, but that was a while ago, and its running like a champ now.

I noticed in the past 6 months, the car seemed to smell richer too...

So they say, you can ruin your cat if your running RICH, so I get it now!!!

I bet! If you're running a straight through muffler, the cat material is long gone, if not, some of it might be in there but I doubt it.
