Default You'll probably kill me

Forgive me guys, but I need a few straightforward answers that I've had a tough time getting answered.

1. What is the best all-encompassing source (online preferably,) that lists the best ways in which to pull at least 250whp from a 1.8 '99 ............. or you could set aside the chagrin you feel for my n00bnish and the annoyance at how redundant this question is and answer it .

2. I can't seem to find this answer for this: what is the best transmission for a Miata that will most likely have a very dynamic power range?

Oh, really? What average power range can a Miata 5speed transmission withstand?

Also, can you point me to said comprehensive post?

5spd gets sketchy around 300whp, give or take. 6spd 400whp, give or take.

Here's a start: https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo...big-post-4288/

Check the general FAQ section, as well as the DIY Turbo section. All your answers are there.

5-speeds are beyond sketchy at 300whp. Most people break them at the 250-275whp mark, give or take a few. 6-speeds will last for a while at 325-350 on a road course or ~400 in a street car, but at those power levels you should be able to afford a spare box in the garage just in case.

If you're running enough power to need a sturdier transmission, make sure you also run the older (90-93) rear end. The new ones just don't hold up to the power - they don't make 'em like they used to.
