johndoe 01-20-2008 07:53 PM

Arkmage 01-20-2008 09:18 PM

johndoe 01-20-2008 09:44 PM

Zabac 01-21-2008 09:49 AM

I went with the 2x but I won't be able to see if it holds what I hope it will until april-may.

TonyV 01-21-2008 12:37 PM

Good news guys, just talked to Igor, they are there today so thats a good thing! I didnt get charged yet either, and I was specific about needing it by the end of the day on Friday when I ordered so I was worried...Then he reminded me that I had upgraded (and paid for) 3day air...Mine's leaving today/tomm and will be here Thurs/Fri...

Whewwww...

kevin02 01-21-2008 01:14 PM

I just ordered the 2X red and smooth lock

Eiffel 01-21-2008 05:03 PM

Ordered a Red 2x, and sprung bonded organic disc + bearing...

I understand it takes a couple of days to assemble the order before it ships

yuletak 01-24-2008 07:42 PM

Just ordered Red 2x w/ bonded organic disc and all the fixin's! Seems like most of the orders are for the same thing. I thought about the 3x but was told it would be pretty stiff. They've just run out of alignment tools, so it'll take 'em a few days to get some more in. But if you don't need it, apparently they can ship the next day. Thanks for setting this up! Just in time too.

TonyV 01-24-2008 07:48 PM

Mine should be here tommmmmm!
UPS dont fail me now!

I was told the same thing bout the 3x..."very stiff" and def not needed till well over 300wtq, even then the 2x with a stronger clutch should do it...

kevin02 01-24-2008 08:00 PM

Ordered mine Monday, arrived Thursday

dc2696 01-24-2008 08:32 PM

Ordered the 2x with a sprung 6puck, told him 350whp(approx 300wtq) he said yup that'll work.

TonyV 01-24-2008 09:09 PM

TonyV 01-25-2008 12:32 AM

ahhhhh ic (:squint:)

IcantDo55 01-25-2008 11:58 AM

Mine here, looks cute. So used to 11" stuff on Mustangs.

neogenesis2004 01-25-2008 01:53 PM

I just placed an order for a 3x PP with 6 puck sprung hub for a 1.6L. Hopefully I might get it before next weekend. Although the guy told me that the 3x PP is something they have to assemble per order, so it will be a couple days before they get to it. Once it gets in, off to the machine shop to lighten the stock flywheel and balance the whole assembly to 10k rpm.

TonyV 01-25-2008 02:11 PM

Got mine!!! WHEW...
Looks like good quality...No alignment tool but the pilot/t.o. bearings look up to par..., I'd rather not have a tool than have crapy bearings so all smiles here!

Arkmage 01-25-2008 03:02 PM

You can get the pilot tool for $3 at advance autoparts. They usually stock is as it is the same spline and pilot size as several domestics.

Good tip in case I cant find anyone with one nearby to borrow...
Thanks!

coastertrav 01-26-2008 10:49 AM

sweet. It looks like I will be ordering mine sometime in the next two weeks.

amagalla 01-26-2008 12:36 PM

I'm still wondering how long this group buy is going to last. Any one have any idea?

Tony

Arkmage 01-26-2008 12:52 PM

No clue, but I'm beginning to think that the group buy may end before I even get mine. I ordered last thursday and still haven't seen it :(

IcantDo55 01-28-2008 01:10 PM

Found out.

Group buy is good through the end of February. Its a leap year so you have an extra day, don't miss it.

emmi 01-28-2008 03:35 PM

jtpaintballwdp 01-28-2008 04:50 PM

emmi 01-28-2008 09:35 PM

2X red + organic sure lock. That's what I ordered (and received last night), should be more than enough clutch for that level.

Thank you for checking on that!

tann3r 01-29-2008 12:47 PM

I really need to stop visiting here. You guys seem to set up great deals too often. I'll be placing my order soon.

johndoe 01-30-2008 08:41 PM

got mine yesterday. Came with a release bearing and a pilot bearing but no tool.

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n/stuff002.jpg

TonyV 01-30-2008 09:54 PM

Same here, and bearing look good too...
Like someone suggested, pretty much any autoparts store will have the clutch tools for like $3, even the mom and pop shops..

Make sure u bring ur clutch so u can get the right tool

neogenesis2004 01-30-2008 10:46 PM

My card got charged today, so I'm hoping to get it early next week so that I can drop off the clutch and flywheel off for lightening and balancing.

IcantDo55 01-31-2008 09:57 PM

I email ChutchNet about the missing alignment tools and he said:

Mike,
Yes, at some point we were out of al. tools.
If the guys still need it, I can still send it, let me know.
Give them my apologies.
Thanks
Igor

So me know if you need a tool and I'll have him ship one.

Thanks

Saml01 01-31-2008 10:13 PM

Heres a question. My stock clutch has only 21k on it, could I just get one of their 3X pressure plates and re use the disc?

This is a hypothetical at this point, by the time I get my turbo in and drive the car the disc might turn to shit pretty quickly depending on how soon I swap the disc out. But say it was immediately,.

Zabac 02-01-2008 10:07 AM

sam, do it once do it right...i know i would not like to take the tranny out twice

Saml01 02-01-2008 07:02 PM

What makes you so sure that you HAVE to change the clutch though, just cause everyone does it. The PP does all the work, it really doesnt matter what clutch disc you use if both are sprung and organic, their yellow disk versus the stocker.

Arkmage 02-03-2008 01:57 PM

3 Attachment(s)
Something to note about these clutches... If you have an aftermarket flywheel you may not get the full grip potential of the disk.

See pics. Notice how the clutchnet disk goes all the way to the OD of the pressure plate and flywheel surface. The stocker is over a 1/4" smaller in diameter! So, if you resurface the flywheel you will need to go all the way out to the PP mounting bosses. Aftermarket flywheels may not have a large enough wear surface for full grip.

IcantDo55 02-12-2008 08:11 PM

My new clutch went in today.
Red 3X plate. Clutch is stiff but not bad at all.

Two weeks left in the group buy.....don't miss out!

Marc D 02-12-2008 11:27 PM

any deals on a flywheel?

Marc D 02-12-2008 11:28 PM

oops, double post.

I did not set that up, sorry.:)

Loki047 02-13-2008 11:31 AM

Ok im lazy, and dont care about clutches. I would like to stick with 1.6 flywheel.

Some one pick me a package thats streetable (close to stock) that can handle 300ftlbs.

If not switch to a 1.8 flywheel. Select for me.

Call them and talk to the pros that are building it, Igor is very knowledgeable about clutches.

Loki047 02-13-2008 11:36 AM

man im fucking lazy. I want a list of parts and a price.

Arkmage 02-13-2008 03:30 PM

Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & smooth lock disc $345.00 - 295ft/lb

that's for 1.6L flywheel. the same on the 1.8L is good to 375 or so per Igor.

EDIT* NOTE TO ALL: MAKE SURE YOU CAR IS IN NEUTRAL BEFORE STARTING IT UP AFTER THE INSTALL. MY CLUTCH PEDAL NEEDED SERIOUS ADJUSTMENT WITH THIS CLUTCH AND WOULD HAVE ALMOST CERTAINLY LURCHED INTO THE GARAGE DOOR IF IT HAD BEEN IN GEAR.

Loki047 02-13-2008 04:30 PM

but its not the same pressure plate on both clutches right?

pjm 02-13-2008 11:52 PM

Looks like I will be calling Igor for an 1.8l XT equivalent.

thesnowboarder 02-14-2008 02:55 AM

Dont want to read the whole thread, but can i get 94-05 HD Sprung Hub Race Kit
ACT HD Sprung Hub 6 Puck Race Kit Part # ZM2-HDG6. I would need a 1.8 flywheel as well. IF so how much?

IcantDo55 02-14-2008 11:20 AM

Info:

For example:
ACT XT pressure plate would be our Red 3X
HD pressure plate is Clutchnet Red 2X.

MM or SS disc would be Clutchnet smooth lock disc(organic sprung hub)
G4 is Clutchnet 4 button e-z lock disc(sprung hub)
G6 is Clutchnet 6 button e-z lock disc
R4 is Clutchnet 4 button solid hub disc
R6 is Clutchnet 6 button solid hub disc

Here we go:
Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & smooth lock disc $345.00 - 295ft/lb
Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & 6 puck solid disc $355.00 - 395ft/lb
Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & 4 puck solid disc $345.00 - 425ft/lb
Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & 6 puck sprung disc $385.00 - 395ft/lb (more use for street)
Clutchnet 3X pr.plate & 4 puck sprung disc $375.00 - 405ft/lb

All others with Clutchnet 2X pressure plate I can do flat price of $325.00 for 1.6L Miata.

$355.00 for 1.8L Miata

Any disc goes with it, except if they require fiber-carbon or Kevlar discs.
That would be $50.00 extra

FREE SHIPPING for all above!

Braineack 02-14-2008 11:32 AM

Igor couldn't beat my price I found for an ACT 6-puck sprung disc, so I bought the ACT instead...oh wells.
