jasonrobo02 01-03-2008 11:28 PM

I am not bashing this or anything, because I am very interested in some slim fans, but the ebay auction that you linked to ended for less than $40, with what seemed to be a shipping charge based on location. I then found another similar auction with a BIN price of $44 with similar shipping terms.

$44 BIN Auction

Were you able to talk them down quite a bit on shipping or something? Because the $45 doesn't seem like such a great price right now.

I really hope that I am missing something.

Zabac 01-03-2008 11:51 PM

i got them for 50 shipped
so they are negotiable for sure

I got mine for $50 shipped, so you may be able to do a bit better than the $45 plus shipping

jasonrobo02 01-03-2008 11:53 PM

Okay sounds good. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything. I'll give Jessica a call then. Thanks.

Zabac 01-04-2008 12:04 AM

kewl, cant wait for mine to get here so i can finish my suppaduppa shroud

samsonhsc 01-11-2008 10:54 AM

I want to some fans too but I couldnt get the phone connected. Is the phone number right?
do you have an email ?

Zabac 01-11-2008 11:01 AM

google street rod world, im sure you'll find it, they are in Iowa if it helps narrow anything down
ah fuck it, i just checked and it is the right number

UrbanSoot 02-14-2008 06:59 PM

If you are low on space like due to a larger rad, then maybe

boardboy330 02-21-2008 08:33 AM

I just called and ordered some of these fans to go with the Godspeed Rads I ordered....Jessica said she has never heard of us and has no idea who Miataturbo.net is...HOWEVER...she was swayed into giving me two fans for $45 shipped ;)

Zabac 02-28-2008 10:39 AM

not surprising to me, i talked to her only once in december
we are not in any type of agreement with them or anything, i just got them to discount me a good ammount and told her i may have more people calling asking for the same deal, she said ok...thats where we left it, if more people would have been calling im sure she would remember, there is just not too much demand for these right now...
by all means, i encourage everyone to negotiate the best price with jessica

TURNS101 02-28-2008 04:54 PM

Dan, have you installed these yet??

Braineack 02-28-2008 04:56 PM

needs more 12"

m2cupcar 02-28-2008 05:04 PM

yeah AFAIK two 12"s fit fine... why 10s? I don't see the amps listed. ?

Zabac 02-28-2008 05:20 PM

no, my car is not running yet, that was my first priority
once i have the car running, i will install the cops and then the radiators and shroud
hopefully all this within the next month

sorry, no feedback from me yet

i didn't see the neccesity for 12", the 10's seem like they will work just fine, i mean its 3000CFMs total and it will be shrouded properly

Newbsauce 03-07-2008 02:29 PM

I just called them and picked up two. After spending alot of my day looking at fans, they rate better then the ones I could find on ebay for the most part. 58 shipped to VA... they didnt give me shit for a deal.

Zabac 03-07-2008 11:58 PM

seriously? did you talk to the girl whos name is in the first post? damn, that sucks...
what do you plan for a shroud?

Newbsauce 03-08-2008 12:04 AM

The girl didnt answer.. it was a dumbfuck dude. I honestly would not ever deal with them again for the douchebaggery. I told him what I needed, he then told me he had none. I then showed him an ebay auction of his that had what I wanted, he then charged me full price. Fucking worthless POS.

Zabac 03-08-2008 11:09 PM

sounds like an ass, he was probably pissed cause you were asking for his sister/cousine/wife

cjernigan 06-07-2008 03:56 PM

So who is running these fans now. I need slim fans but i'm not sure its worth buying chinese fans at the risk of them not flowing enough air. I need them pronto so who's running these and how do they compare to stock. I can get some name brand SPALs that might be better but the price difference is basically half.

I know you haven't asked me for advice but; get the best flowing ones you can buy! I had to change one of mines to the OEM one.

kotomile 06-08-2008 08:09 PM

Hah, I'm running one 12" fan and it works fine...

So 2 10" fans ought to be fine too, but then why not run 2 12"s like M2 said?

Zabac 06-09-2008 10:44 AM

Chad, I have a set of these, but not in the car yet, I assume they should do just fine, they are rated at 1500 each, I know that changes with a radiator in front, but thats a total of 3000 combined, I'd go for the 12" ones though, just because I know that they would fit and they flow slightly more.

cjernigan 06-09-2008 10:46 PM

I ordered 12's last night. Should work well with my shroud i'll be building.

highroller101 06-10-2008 12:21 AM

Give me an update when you get them in (ASAP perferably :) )because I would love a set of cheap fans if they work better then stock! And I dont want to spend almost 500 bucks for the stage 2 kit from FM

cjernigan 06-10-2008 12:32 AM

I'm not looking for more function over stock, i'm looking for thinner then stock. That's all i care about.

Zabac 06-11-2008 12:31 PM

Stock flows plenty, that's not the issue, the fittment is like Chad said. Thicker radiator, plus thicker sway bar, you run into issues with fan fittment.

cjernigan 06-12-2008 10:52 PM

siliconeintakes.com 12" fans on Godspeed radiator = perfect fit with pull throughs

Compared to the stock fan's pushing the radiator forward against the sway bar.

Vash-

Zabac 06-16-2008 04:14 PM

Don't you have the 10" ones? Chad has the 12" ones.
No matter how I tried to type that, it still doesn't look right.

hustler 07-15-2008 05:32 PM

anyone have a good link to these?

Do I want the 10" to clear the sway bar brace?

Zabac 07-15-2008 06:52 PM

Just go for the 12", cause bigger is better.

hustler 07-15-2008 10:15 PM

Use the 10% off found here somewhere. They come with the cool pull through/zip tie like mounts that are great.

KPLAFIN 07-21-2008 09:41 PM

Will two 12" fans fit on the stock radiator or if one will be enough to cool a stock '95? I had one implode on me today and might as well grab two while I'm ordering one for when i do upgrade the radiator.

Zabac 07-21-2008 10:26 PM

Two 12's will fit.

posidon42 07-23-2008 06:48 PM

How do you get the 10% code to work? I tried to order these and there is nowhere to enter the code. Comments field maybe? Also, the 12s on their site will cost me a total of $78 with shipping. Good deal or nay?

Also, the 12" siliconetakes version flows 1600cfm @ 6A draw. The street rod world version is 2000cfm @ 8-10A. What is the max current draw that is acceptable for our fan relays? The street rod world cost is about the same from their ebay ad.

Zabac 07-24-2008 09:39 AM

I don't know anything about the draw, but when ordering, I suggest you call over the phone and talk them down to as low as they'll go.

hustler 07-25-2008 05:42 PM

in for a response on how to wire these up because I need to buy those fuckers today or tomorrow if my car is every going to run.

what are you talking about? if you can't wire up fans, then you fail at life and should end it now.

I own a few guns, so I can do that myself.

posidon42 07-26-2008 04:31 PM

anyone have pictures of the 12" fans on this? I am particularly interested in seeing if it will clear the sway bar. How much improvement should I expect with either of these fans when using the stock radiator?

hustler 07-26-2008 06:50 PM

You could look at CFM levels for each and compare to stock if you're using a shroud...but since you provided insufficient detail in your proposed set-up, expect a barrage of insulting responses with foul language and homosexual innuendo.

posidon42 07-26-2008 08:31 PM

Ok, allow me to be more specific. I have a stock rad with stock fans right now. I have a heatshield on the turbo but things are still REALLY hot under the hood. So I am pondering buying these fans and using them on my stock rad, knowing I will have to make a shroud for it. So, it was mentioned earlier that the 12" fans might not clear the sway bar. So, my clarified question is: if I put these fans on my car with a new shroud, will I have clearance issues with my stock sway bar?

Hopefully I jumped in before the innuendo and language kicked in ;)

dunno, but a bigger radiator is going to cool the water in the car, not the exhaust manifold which makes it hot under the hood.

posidon42 07-27-2008 12:11 AM

true, but with more air coming into the car, I can add some ducting to direct air to the turbo and out through the transmission tunnel. Dual function from what I can tell. I have some other tricks up my sleeve to try to help with this little problem. I forsee the car going back up on jacks in a couple of weeks...

you should try "Direct Exhaust Injection" because you're a fucking retard.

posidon42 07-27-2008 01:42 PM

No, I am a professional mechanical engineer and am using some principles of directed airflow to remove the hot air from the engine bay by providing an easy route for the hot air to escape. Seems logical to me.

Back on topic... I was just looking to see if anyone has any pictures of using the 12" fans with the stock rad.

so you're going to attempt to cool the turbine housing?

posidon42 07-27-2008 08:26 PM

Yes, with ducted air from the upgraded fans.

Ben 07-27-2008 08:35 PM

sounds pretty 'tarded. you're probably better off opening the hood over the turbo to extract air right over it. one of my x-coworkers cut a few gills over his turbo, worked very well. a 280z vent would work well.

deliverator 07-27-2008 11:07 PM

Why would you want to cool the turbine as opposed to, say, insulating it to keep heat in?

Why would you want to heat the transmission tunnel with air off the turbine?

Looking to wear out the rubber shift boots faster?

I realize one of the most effective way to do this would be to cut grills in the hood. But I don't want to do that, so I am looking for some other methods.

I am already in line to try out one of the turbo blankets.

That is already happening right now. With the heatshield over the turbo and the undertray installed, the hot air exhausts out through the trans tunnel anyway.

I have some other plans to prevent that from happening. And if it doesn't work out, I am just out a sheet or two of aluminum :) When I get around to doing some more work with this, I will make a new thread so this one can stay on topic.

$59 shipped. 2x 12"fans. 2.5" in the middle, tapering down to 1.25". 10 mounting holes, 2000cfm, 8-10 amp draw. Chinese made. Reversible. Curved blades.

P.S. Talked to a guy named Mark. Asked him about "street rod world" ones for $55, and he directed me to this item, saving me $10 bucks.
Turns out that the company has some 15 Ebay identities, and their website is http://www.gearheadworld.com/
