Full payment sent last Sunday... But didn't get any confirmation except from Paypal... Is this normal?

No, it isn't. I have your order, though. Paypal's email must be on the fritz; I had to go searching for an order this week after someone asked me to confirm and I realized I didn't have a payment notification email from Paypal for them. Everything shows up in my Payments Recieved folder, though. :bang:

Don't rush me with 728937890243 PMs asking for confirmation; I will send out PMs this weekend to everyone who has ordered one to confirm.

Paid in full for 90-93 coils on a 99 motor with a Link.

modernbeat 05-16-2008 12:56 PM

Update us when you have a solution for '99.

payment difficulty:

Savington,

I'm trying to pay in full, yet I get nonsense:

format name@domain.com

Your name, etc., doesn't work. I set up a paypal account and it's not working--any ideas? Count me in for a system that works with a '90 1.6, school me on how to pay for it (even though you already did and it's not cooperating), and we'll go from there...

Thanks,
adjemin

miatamania 05-17-2008 01:10 AM

is your paypal confirmed? linked to an account...etc etc?

Yeah.

1.6 guys, the discount price is done. $250 shipped from here on out. 94-95 guys, you have until next Saturday. 96+ guys, I still have you in mind.

edit: this is what I get for posting in this thread at 5am. 1.6 guys, TODAY is the last day. I will honor the $200 price through midnight PST.

cueball1 05-17-2008 02:10 PM

Sav,

Sent in 1/2 down for my 94 a couple weeks ago. How's the 94 system coming? I know it's going to take more work on my part. Are you able to create a diagram of how or what to do?

Savington 05-19-2008 11:36 PM

cueball, you have PM.

Rafa 05-23-2008 07:44 PM

Sav, do you have capacitors?

chriscar 05-24-2008 09:21 AM

Deposit sent.

modernbeat 05-25-2008 01:09 AM

Quick update. I just got a load of coils in yesterday (my desk is literally covered in them, I have something like 40 just sitting around  ). The holdup recently has been the mounting brackets themselves. I'll punch one out, and one hole will be slighty off, and I don't want to ship some redrilled piece of junk to a paying customer.

So I had a friend of mine get in contact with a metal working shop who is going to stamp out the mounting plates for me, including press-in studs to mount the brackets down. I should have a finished piece by early next week and I will start shipping then. I am really psyched about these brackets, I think they are really going to impress you guys.

Braineack 05-28-2008 07:31 PM

If you aren't naked in the pictures you take of them...not impressed.

j/k curious to see, my plate is weaksauce and I want to change it eventually.

kotomile 05-28-2008 08:32 PM

So, since I'm not getting the bracket, mine should be done first eh? :D

I'm going in the order in which I recieved the orders. You are 4th on the list, so your harness is complete and I am staring at your coils as I type this.

You're gonna want this bracket, man. :D

deadmeat 05-28-2008 09:57 PM

Oohhhh a fancy bracket now!

I'm super-stoked :D

Yes but I already have my COPS installed. I need to know whether Savington can do me the favor of selling me only the capacitor since he's already buying them in bulk.

Thanks,

Savington 05-28-2008 10:06 PM

Rafa, I need to order more. I can shoot you one, just shoot me a PM to remind me.

chriscar 05-28-2008 10:07 PM

So this new bracket is going to be a bottom mount?

C

Savington 05-28-2008 11:16 PM

Yes. I quickly explored a top mount and realized that with the way I want the coils to sit, the metal interfered with the connector that pops up. I don't like the way Sam's harness (for instance, sorry Sam :( ) lays across his valve cover. Although it would be much easier for me to produce, I just didn't like it, and so it was axed.

12th-ish. ;) Your order was never misplaced, Paypal just hid it from me for a little while.

Loki047 05-29-2008 09:14 AM

Savington, putting up a list of whos where would be nice.

Sav,

I'm curious, about just ordering a plate, and maybe one of the caps. I've got the harness done already, cops, good to go. Need to work on the dwell reducer though (damn EMB). <G>

Skimmed the thread, and didn't see a specific price for the plate....

Dave,

Thought about this several times, but I don't want to just hand out a list of customers like that (unless you ask in this thread). How's this: Go check the date you sent your Paypal and correlate it to this.

Dave,

The plate is $20. I have to buy 50 to get them to do the tooling, so I will definitely have some extras.

I've gotten a few PMs about ordering parts of the kit, so here's the breakdown:

Coils: $80
OEM Toyota Connectors: $20
OEM Mazda ignitor (1.6)/Weatherpack connector (1.8): $20
Bracket: $20
Harness: the rest ($90) (includes cap, pins, and resistor for 1.6 MS guys)

That adds up to $230, which is probably where I'll set the price point for the long term.

cueball1 05-30-2008 03:21 AM

Looks like I'm in the 6th/7th spot with my May 5 down payment. Any feeling for time frame?

Probably looking at the end of the first week of June. Depends on the timeframe for the brackets, though.

deadmeat 05-30-2008 07:00 PM

Ugh, I don't know if I have the patience to be 6/7th lol

I wanna get that protege valve cover on reaaaalllll bad :p

hey sav, any update on what number has been shipped out and what not?

jayc72 06-09-2008 02:13 PM

I'd like to order a set of Toyota connectors, when would these be available?

Savington 06-09-2008 04:51 PM

Still waiting on brackets, I am expecting them Wednesday.

jayc72, I can order you a set, but it'll probably be faster to go through the place in Texas yourself. Once I ship them to you, you probably won't save much on shipping either.

disturbedfan121 06-09-2008 05:58 PM

ok let me know i'm trying to budget my money for the next 2 weeks

I thought you might have had them on hand.

Just talked to my friend who has been my liason for the sheetmetal shop. The plates are being deburred today, studs are being pressed in tomorrow. Should have them Wednesday as scheduled.

Savington... Just now saw this thread.
I think I'd like this setup, any ideas how this would work out of the gate with the Hydra ECU? I'm guessing since it's plug and play, it will function like the stock coils without changing anything else. Would I have to change anything (other than the tune) to run sequential ignition?

I was just about to order a new coil pack and wires, but I would go this route instead if it will truly be plug and play and offer better more consistant spark.

thanks!

Saahild 06-11-2008 05:59 PM

Joined miataturbo just to read this thread :P. How long are you planning to produce these for? I have a few more urgent things on my shopping list but as soon as they are done I would really like a set of these.

kotomile 06-11-2008 06:20 PM

be advised Sav, after July 11th I'll no longer live at my Augusta address.

Can I just get the connector(s) that are on the OE coils of a 94 1.8?
Did you say they were hard to get? Do you have a part number or source for them new or used?

Sure, cut them off the coils yourself. ;) My '94 guys are going to have to cut and splice wires, unfortunately. I haven't found the OEM connector yet.

derf 06-13-2008 09:18 AM

OK, please let me know if you do find the OEM connector for a 94 coil PNP app.

belacyrf 06-13-2008 01:44 PM

Sav, can you answer this? I need to make a decision on this asap, I also sent you an email. Thanks!
