Default Best way to read engine data using Hydra?

So I've got this bug up my *** to do a little research into monitoring data- AFR, water temps, AIT, boost etc.. I don't want to have 50 gauges i nmy car and no flashing lights and whatnots. Has anyone used any kind of multi information display with the Hydra? I don't need a ton of extras, it doesn't need to be a full replacement dash, just something to display the vital information using the Hydra. I can't say I've really looked into this, so if I am missing an obvious thread or something, please tell me Otherwise, this may become a functional thread for later searches.

My solution with monitoring data with the Hydra was to not use the Hydra for monitoring data...

Would love to see if the Hydra can output good useable data for anything other than a full dash replacement.

I know you guys don't like it, but there is no real benefit to switching ECUs. Im not one to be tinkering with it or getting every last bit of tuning out of it. I have too much other **** going on to even think about buying, swapping, tuning and who knows what else. Ok, so I might get a smoother idle with a/c...woooo.

Anyway, that PLX seems like what I'd be looking for.

Sorry, it's actually been sometime since I have looked into buying new stuff for the car....life's been kinda getting in the way :/

With your 2.1 you'd have to go to something peripheral like those PLX units, just save your receipts...

2.7 has CAN capability, works now with AiM dashes & others to come. Right now I'm trying to get it to talk to my OT-2 / iPhone.

Wow. if it works with ot-2 then I can connect it to my Harrys Lap Timer. No dash needed. Oh boy that would be nice. Just curious what are you looking for. You can setup warning lights to come on and off at various situations. (maybe not in the 2.1 idk)

Is somebody actually still running 2.1 software? I'm in desperate need of it. Bought a unit in a blur, woke up when Hydra asked me 750 for an upgrade to 2.7...

In all seriousness though what if you went with a MS and just ran one of the many digital dashes out there.

I ran 2.6 and am running 2.7 with an AiM MXL that I got used. It works great and the alarm features are fantastic since you don't need worry about checking temps/values until an alarm light comes on telling you something is out of range.
