FM 36-2 with Hydra correct settings?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Newbie to the forums and I see all sorts of help and great threads, I just haven't seen one close enough to my problem. Thanks in advance.
The car is a 2002, FM GT 3071 Turbo, AEM Coil on Plug (was running fine with the 1.8)
Here is my problem. Pulled my 1.8 VVT out and put a 2.0 McCulley engine in. Put a ATI dampener & FM 36-2 on the engine. I have receive 2 very different sets of setting from FM. With the first set of Ignition Triggers for the Hydra 2.7 with a VVT the settings are Sequencer 39, Timing Reference angle 80 (corrected to 81 with a timing light), Rising & Rising, Generic 36-2, Toyota Prado, VCTi offset 34, VCTi P-term 180, VCTi I-term 100, VCTi2 Phase Trim 0, Left VCTi Sequencer 7, The car has AEM Coil on Plugs, and fires up and will idle for 20 to 30 minutes then die and will not restart again till it is stone cold. I have plugged in a spark verification light on the #1 plug shows spark till it dies then when I go to re-crank the car no spark.
I receive a second set of instructions for the car from Jeremy and are very different from the one for setting up the Hydra with a VVT. Crank sensor has been replaced, Cam sensor has been replaced.
Second set of settings for the Ignition Triggers for the Hydra 2.7 are Sequencer 5, Timing Reference angle 75, Rising & Rising, Miata Double, Miata twin tooth, VCTi offset 0, VCTi P-term 0, VCTi I-term 0, VCTi2 Phase Trim 0, Left VCTi Sequencer 0, With this setup I get no spark at all. So this is not the correct setting.
Now I have tried the following and the car tries to start but the timing is off just enough that it will not fully crank. Ignition Triggers for the Hydra 2.7 are Sequencer 39, Timing Reference angle 80 (corrected to 81 with a timing light), Rising & Rising, Generic VCT 36-2, Toyota Prado, VCTi offset 34, VCTi P-term 180, VCTi I-term 100, VCTi2 Phase Trim 0, Left VCTi Sequencer 7.
