Hydra 2.7 tuner in Texas
I need help. Looking for someone who can help me tune my FMII with nemesis 2.7. Recently purchased a 1997 track prepped car with all the go fast goodies. Owner had sent off ECU for a 2.7 upgrade and its back. I have very little experience with this platform. Looking for anyone in the Dallas or surrounding area that wants to make some $ helping me with a conservative track tune. I've been lurking on this site for years and finally pulled the trigger. Can't wait to get my new-to-me car on the track. Thanks for your help.

Yes and maybe.
The yes - Keith Verges who lives in Dallas and has a home at MSR Cresol helped me with an initial tune for my upgraded ECU. I'm fighting an early cut-out issue at about 5500 rpm. Everything else running good. Car just feels like it hits the rev limiter at 5500. Since Keith is a full-time lawyer and part-time racer, finding time to get together is a challenge. And tuning requires on-road datalogging. Also less convenient.
The Maybe - got a recommendation for PRT Performance out of Lewisville. They claim to be an experienced Hydra tuner. They have a dyno. I'm going to take my car up to their shop after the holidays. They also perform all the normal high performance maintenance I would need if tuning sessions were to reveal an issues. So hopefully I've got a shop that works on my schedule.

Update on Hydra tuner in Texas. Keith Vergas was helpful but I was still experiencing a cutout issue at 5,500 rpm. Keith does not have a dyno so tuning required a couple laps at the track with datalogging. Time consuming and impossible to observe issues real-time.
I took my car to Steve Kan at PRT Performance in Lewisville and he put it on his dyno and we immediately identified a boost creek issue. Two solutions to fix, 1) bore wastegate or add back pressure. The car had an open pipe terminating under the driver seat which was very load, hot and lots of fumes. I wanted to quiet it down to enjoy the car so we decided to add a muffler. Snap, problem fixed. Car is revving to redline without issue. I don't like the idea of losing HP with the muffler and adding weight, but the alternative is less desirable. I would recommend Steve for your tuning needs. And he has experience with all the common ECU's.

He has done the major tuning on my car from 2.5, 2.6, and now 2.7. My car has been reliable and survived the last 6+ years on the road and many many track days. until my turbo finally died this year.
