I believe it's a requirement, yes.

i think 95 is too generous. it's probably more like 80%.
when's the ultramegasquirt or ms3 come out? then it'll be comparable. |

The Hydra does tons of things the MS doesn't. Do a little research and you'll quickly see how the Hydra has pretty much unlimited I/O where the MS is basically tapped out.
Full sequential fuel, full sequntial ignition, 3D VVT control, super huge resolution tables. Is this describing MS or Hydra? :giggle: Who makes the hydra and where do I get info? |

I'm all eager about sending my hydra back and not being able to drive anywhere for a week (miata is my only car) and paying for the privilege of suck. The bits and pieces I've seen about the upgrade seems neato though. I would have bought a MS though if MSPNP was around back then. And if I knew it was an ECU and not a WI system :(.
Is there an "open source" way to view the hydra logs? Excel graphing is kind of crappy... |
Maybe FM can do some sort of credit card secured advance shipment for you? That would be a good business model at least.
|
Any of the log analysis software should be able to import CSV..
Also, it's not like this is a forced upgrade.. your car is not going to stop running if you don't step up to 2.6. We're not upgrading any of our 2.5 cars, but we'll be doing 2.6 on all the future ones. |

yeah, MLV will work. it'll display them fine. search for my MAP thread about how to get a real "MAP" graph instead of boost/vac. you dont nee to register it to use it.
still, I strongly feel the improvement in datalogging capabilities is worth the upgrade time and cost from 2.5 to 2.6. |
I am new here...first post...so please be kind.
One thing I have found is that sometimes the seller is not privy to the fact that a newer or more feature rich product is coming out. Even if they are there are situations where non-disclosure agreements (the dreaded NDA) prevent them from telling you to wait for the new product. With that said...I would still be a little bent about buying a new ECU and then finding out that a newer, better, faster, and stronger solution was "just" made available. my 2 cents. |
even if you're new: THE DAMN THREAD YOU REVIVED IS OVER 6 MONTHS OLD!!!!!!!! stop fucking doing that:mad:
