I remember I was 10 when the first Halo came out. It was THE game to play. The story was incredible and the gameplay was addicting as you tried to figure out what halo was. My friends and I nearly crapped our pants when we were playing the flood level for the first time after midnight. I thought the graphics were unbelievably realistic compared to previous Nintendo 64 first person shooters. What really made the game was the multiplayer. A lot of people from school would host halo parties where we'd stockpile several tvs, xboxes, cables, and pizza and play for hours. The menu screen music blaring through my friend's home theater subs while setting up a game got your adrenaline going. Before there was Xbox Live we used to use XBconnect to do a system link to play over the internet. I don't know what it was, but nothing really compared to a 16 player capture the flag on the original blood gulch. This is also when I first learned about modding the xbox. Cheats like unlimited ammo, swapping assault rifle projectiles to tank shells, and flying tanks were a blast to mess around with once modded. Sadly nowdays modding will get you booted pretty quickly no questions asked.

Then came halo 2. The second trailer showing master chief hijacking a ghost was phenomenal. Again, I couldn't believe how much better the graphics were. When it came out, I really didn't care for single player, but this is where XBlive started to shine. Connecting games online was so simple I could hardly believe it. Of course, it was fun to work the game to find out ways to cheat to get your gamertag rank up (namely pressing standby on your router, and the super bounce). I quickly found out I was not as good at halo 2 as I was with the first. Still, the multiplayer beat any other game at that time.

Then came halo 3 and ODST. I didn't think the game could get better graphics, but I was proven wrong.. again. For me the game was kinda "meh". This was when I really stopped playing video games in general. I had a job and went to college instead. It was good to finish the trilogy and all, but I never really got into it. We stopped having halo parties after 3 came out. Everything was too "balanced". I remember when the pistol and sniper was the domination combination. Everything just seemed to be getting more "refined" and complex. I also found I was a whole lot worse at 3 than I was at 2.

Fast forward to almost 10 years from its release, we have halo reach. I just had an opportunity to play it awhile ago, and (surprise) the graphics as usual are even more stellar. It was fun and all, but I just didn't really get into it. To me what makes a game fun is its simplicity. There is just too much going on in this halo. I suppose now I come from a completely different generation of gamers, so my viewpoint is going to be a lot different. I often miss the days were there were only 4 players sitting in 1 room battling it out on mario kart, the original super smash bros, or goldeneye on the same TV. I guess it's just a nostalgia thing. Now a lot of games are made for the sole purpose of profit, where creativity goes down the tubes. I think one of these days I need to get a halo 1 party going to relive the old days. I wish I was young again.. *** responsibility.

As far as campaign goes, I think this is what Halo should have always been from the beginning. The Elites are actually intimidating for once, even on Heroic. I'll admit that online MP isn't nearly as fun as Halo 2 online was for me. I still think Reach is quite an improvement over Halo 3 though. I never really got into the online MP on 3.

The campaign of 1, 2, 3, ODST, and Reach put together is 100% amazing. All the little tidbits in the complete story (including the books) that 99.9% of Halo players don't catch makes me wonder how the hell Bungie thinks this **** up.

So is Reach worth the buy? I LOVED Halo 3 multiplayer, and Reach will get mostly multiplayer usage. Everything I have seen has looked promising. I wasn't looking forward to it or even knew about it, but after seeing a few screen shots the other day I got interested.

Yeah it's awesome. Jet packs and sprinting and shields and...assassin? I think that's the forth "mod". Just like ODST but with different maps and the above upgrades. There are subtle differences to the guns as well, not sure what else, I only got an hour of play time in before work.

Halo 1 kicked ***, 2 was ****, 3 was fun in multiplayer, and I haven't played any of the newer of the Halo series. I was thinking about picking up ODST this weekend since it's so cheap and pick up Reach maybe next paycheck. I'm tight this pay period (damn doctors!!!)

Go self yourself or drugs on the street for more money.

I haven't played Halo since #2 back in college. I've always been a PC FPS addict so FPS on a console with lame thumbsticks just doesn't cut it for me. Never will. I own a x360 and it hasn't been turned on for like 6 months. I'll probly use it again when fable 3 comes out.

Using advanced statistics formulas I've calculated a probability of 1 that you are even gayer in person then on the internet.

I HATED the flood levels in all of the Halos. I've heard Reach has none, so that is a big +
