Added more RAM

But it isn't showing up. Properties shows 384 mb but and I have 2 512 sticks in there. Any help is appreciated.

Edit: I just swapped out my sticks for 2 more 512 sticks and now its showing 896, wtf?

Is it the right specs (fast enough)? Try moving it around in the slots too.

How old is your computer?

Some motherboards have issues with properly registering ram if you dont use matching sticks. Matching meaning they are all either single sided or double sided.

Speed of the ram doesnt really matter because the computer will just run as fast as the slowest stick.

My guess is you have 128mb allocated to an internal video card.

deliverator is right...you have memory allocated elsewhere.

Good catch. Didnt think he would have that much allocated to the onboard video card.

If you don't do 3d gaming, get into your bios and turn down the allocated ram to maybe 32mb.

Or get a real vid card and just disable onboard video entirely if that's an option.
