Visiting a college buddy this Saturday-Wednesday. Possibly scouting the area and unofficially meeting some folks from ZF and Bosch to shoot the **** before resume's are pushed around. What is there to do around this area?

Food, fun, que?

I lived in AA until I went to college, still go back often for family and friends. If you enjoy floating down a river on a tube with a few beers, check out attached map. We usually go to Walmart and get the $1.50 inflatable pool mattresses, and float every few weeks. Park where it says park here in the picture, walk across the bridge, then take every left you can, even if it looks like you're going through an overgrown path. Then float to your left, and exit the river to the right side at the first bridge you get to.

The stretch of Huron River Drive that starts at the intersection of HRD and US23 going towards Dexter is nice to drive on. Lots of bikers so not an area to drive fast on during daylight. I think I have a link to an old google maps route I made of a longer drive that starts on HRD and ends up going through Dexter, Chelsea, and Hell. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/42.3...!1b1!3e0?hl=en

In addition to everything above, MI is awesome if you are a dirt biker! Hundreds of miles of state maintained single track. They also have 4wheeler trails if that is your thing.

Are there places that will rent dirtbikes? Did that during my TDY in the Inland Northwest and it was a blast.

Thanks for the recommendations folks.

Aceduece, what time do these car events run till? Sadly I'm arriving at DTW at around 9, so it will probably be tail end of whichever I'm able to get to....

I am not sure about that. There are a lot of offroad oriented shops up there so I am guessing you could find something.
