Sitting in the shop goofing around and recovering from hernia surgery. I've had Scorpions - World Wide Live in my cassette player, them my CD player and then my MP3 player since '85. I'm not really sure why I had forgotten about "Love at First Sting" but I don't think I had listened to it since the live album came out. I just listened to the album for the first time in 30 years. Truly a masterpiece. Have a few beers and enjoy 41:20 tonight:

Fat person on the Metro North train this morning:

One doesn't typically see extremely obese people in NYC. They do exist, but they're relatively uncommon. I'm not sure if the NYC lifestyle (lots and lots of walking) tends to keep people fit, or if it tends to naturally de-select people who are grossly unfit.

It makes me sad to think about how engineering and applied science used to be cool. Nobody cares anymore. So long as they can play Farmville and post images of themselves with prolapsed lips, why bother exploring the galaxy?
