Sucks to hear, but nice-looking pad.

I have done nothing this morning but watch F1 pit stops.

It's mesmerizing.

After watching much a lot of that, I wonder why the inside of the wheels aren't made with an inverted cone shape to guide the hub to the center of the wheel?

Because the ID of the wheel is almost the same diameter as the OD of the brakes and the axle bolt thing is pointed to align the front end.

Ah, thanks, did not know that.

Alternate uses for the missus' haircare devices:

On low heat, the filter was nice and dry in about 10 minutes. As a bonus, the house now smells of K&N filter oil, which nicely masks that cinnamon-vanilla candle crap.

Careful, she'll think it's a diffuser and start using it to VOLLLLUUUMIZE!

The design of product packaging is important.

Wonder how a woman's laxative would be different from a man's?

Funny pics, thanks and props.

The F1 changes were great, they even did wing adjustments during the stop.

It's pink.

Since we've already covered shoes and hair gel, I'd like to talk for a moment about personal grooming, and presentableness in general.

Every morning, this guy is on my train:

Specifically, this is a Metro North commuter train which services the middle-class suburbs of Poughkeepsie, New Hamburgh and Beacon, and then runs express to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. This man is obviously employed in some capacity, as he's travelling into an out of Manhattan every day, and can obviously afford the $443 a month train ticket. And yet he dresses like this.

He disembarks this train each morning, and steps out into Grand Central Terminal, the most astonishing and awe-inspiring edifice ever erected to modern commuting:

(Yes, it actually looks like that in real life.)

And he does so wearing sweatpants and a ratty T-shirt, adorned with 1-3 days' spotty beard growth.

I used to call him Captain Sweatpants, in honor of the background character from the TV show Big Bang Theory, but then I realized that the fictional Captain Sweatpants is actually better-groomed than this guy!

Now, I'll freely acknowledge that I'm no Ennio Capasa, but I try to comport myself with a modicum of dignity and in a manner befitting my surroundings.

Some folks...

That is all.

Maybe they're doing a "Contemporary Living Gargoyle" installation at MOMA?

Default Tyson Knockout Compilation (just released)

I'll just leave this here for anybody that has an hour to kill. HINT: don't bother starting it if you don't have the time, cuz it's impossible to stop midstream.

What a monster he was. I can't believe what he accomplished in 1985 at just 18 yo.

shaves a bit off the price if you can stand to have some probably invisible cosmetic flaws. The flaws are usually misaligned eyelets, bunged perforations, or who knows. You have to order over the phone and there's a $10 return fee, but you can certainly call the stores selling the product and ask them to examine and tell you what flaws it has.

OR BETTER YET, that size 14 I linked to is in Riverhead, NY. Have a nice Sunday drive.
I visited the 44th & Madison location on Monday. Predictably, they didn't have my size in stock, but I tried on two pairs of that boot, one 13D and one 14B.

Neither one seemed especially comfortable. I guess I'm accustomed to a bit more space in the toe-box, and a bit softer construction all around.

Went ahead and asked that a pair in my size be shipped to the store to try on later this week, and trying to keep an open mind...

Images unrelated:

Apparently this is a real thing you can buy if you're a woman and want to look like a horse:

I see this, and am torn between

and

None of these things appeal to me in particular.

Also, don't race against an RC car on a motorcycle.

Just don't.
