Mike Skeen in his orange DeVilbiss Audi R8. He was practicing on track with me at Daytona when he dipped into NASA HPDE4. His Mustang was hitting 192 on the front straight back then. Since he was the only one I really knew I was cheering for him to win. He had an awesome start at COTA in the rain last week.



His 3rd place podium moment on Saturday:

What's with the hole in the mirrors on the McLaren? Where do they vent to? I can't find any info.

 

Those are whistles to keep deer off the track.

 

Maybe theres a hole in teh mount?

 

I was wondering if it just allows air to pass through and around the mirror. Could that be less resistance than diverting air around the outside of the entire teardrop?

 

That was my best guess.

 

I think I read that the hole in the mirrors funnel air into the cabin.

Looks like a nice place for someone to take a ****. Careful where you park!

 

I think they are sparrow strainers.
