Sick use of a V8 for all you LS Fanboys. I can't find any updates since last Feb, maybe their prototypes broke off the back of the transom and are lying at the bottom of the Atlantic.
Speaking of Marine motors, a little known fact about the original C4-ZR1 LT5 engine is it was designed and assembled by Mercury Marine in Stillwater OK. Cylinder heads were designed by lotus, even.. http://www.zorly.com/images_corvette...20Drdisque.jpg About 5 years ago I was standing in line at a GMPP counter when I spied 2 crated up LT5s sitting just inside of the parts warehouse. Inquired about their cost and was told both were already sold at $20k each. Supposedly was the last few brand new motors left. |

I've done that, it's about the same as an entire pot of coffee. Unfortunately I did it at work after already drinking a pot of liquid coffee, and had the jitters all day.
Bet him to do the same with a spoonful of cinnamon. Can be half as big. (5:08:30 PM) Joe: That actually sounds delicious (5:09:25 PM) Scott: haha (5:09:30 PM) Scott: There has to be video.. Oh its on!! I'm sure right now he is searching google for "what happens if.." |

Not sure why you never see those used in swaps, hot rods, etc. |

It has potential because the LS has potential. Cost is irrelevant to their target demographic.

One of the coolest engines IMHO. $20k seems real cheap!
GM does still make a DOHC V8 with the Northstar. Not sure why you never see those used in swaps, hot rods, etc. Helped an old man up the street put a Northstar in a Fiero 7 years ago. Problem with using that motor at that time was obviously no aftermarket for swaps. A 1995 Northstar powered DTS uses the PCM to control every aspect of the car -- Wouldn't be surprised if the seat heaters were computer controlled. He drove the doner car and it ran like a top. Pulled the motor and most of the wiring harness. Never ran again. Best we could figure it was something to do with VATS and I didn't have enough electrical knowledge at the time to solve / bypass the issue. Fastforward several years and this comes along: http://howellefi.com/images/detailed/0/d_16342_1.jpg Aftermarket plug and play Northstar V8 harness! ($750) The factory DTS harness was such a clusterfuck that after 60 hours work and the help of a Cadillac mechanic we gave up. Sad, I wanted to drive that car. Why? They are on the turbo manifold... they are just located near the compressor side.

Typically, the exhaust enters the EWG from the "bottom" (the port which is opposite the canister) and exits through the side. An excerpt from Tial's installation instructions: Attachment 240550 From TurboSmart: Attachment 240551 |
Oh I see. I read too quickly. He is talking about the actual EWG.

I spent a lot of time considering a C4 ZR1 that was for sale locally. One owner, no stories, roughly 10k miles on the clock.
In the end, I made the right decision: Attachment 187013 |
