Yesterday, I installed two lava lamps and a plasma globe in a new control room we're building.

 

Those are as timely as the TV show on Local 9.2
Nice touch.

That was intentional.

This will become the master control room where we originate the AntennaTV and RewindTV networks. These are the "all reruns" channels which get carried in about a hundred markets in total. AntennaTV is all 60s and 70s shows, Rewind is 80s and 90s sitcoms.





So I'm decorating the room with things that match the vibe of those two eras.

Thinking about a nice midcentury modern coffee table to go in the back, with a pet rock, stack of magazines (OMNI, BH&G, etc), and so on.

 

I love what Joe did with the place. And I really love the Deutsch-ish warnen signen. Est ist gut gemacht.

There's a huge WWII reenactment with authentic tanks and armor, including German in Volusia County, Florida this coming weekend. It's called Volusia Valor, if I recall correctly. Here are some pics from a different event involving my buddy's hardware in November with some of the same participants. The sepia picture is also from November.
