Bwahahaha! I have another Class that came in the mail for Washington Mutual artificially inflating their share prices from 2005-2009. The settlement estimates are like $0.02 per share for common stock (if the decision goes in favor of the Class)...

 

Yep, those ***!n lawyers really helped the shareholders - like every *(&^)!! class action suit - they help themselves time and again....

 

Inversely, would you rather the company kept the money instead?

What is your alternative proposal to class action suits?

Untill very recently, I hated class action suits myself. Then I realized something - would I rather the company that stole my money keep it, or I get a small amount back and see them not get to keep my stolen bucks as well as possibly paying a penalty?

Unless our politicians grow some ***** (Read: jailtime for executives criminal behavior), I don't see any plausible alternative. It may suck, but it's better than the alternative - unfortunately. :(
