Default Almost no more miata, again.

Well to start off the week I got clipped by a BMW on my way to work. My fender and door are fucked . I find it almost humorous that today is exactly 4 months from my other accident (11/15/09). Also even more humorous that the other accident happened right after I installed the MS/WB, this weekend I didnt the same install. Seriously WTF!!!!!!!!!

My mother showed up at the scene and said maybe I should stop putting money into the car and take this as a sign. I want to finish my car so bad but Im starting to get a bit worried. **** keeps happening to me as I get closer to finally finish a car.

I felt like letting you **** know.

Ah, power thru it. I've wanted to part-out my car about 5 or 6 times now.

Recently I've been trying to get my car running again, had to get a new slave cylinder, coil-pack, t-stat housing, all kinds of hoses and clamps, and a few other things I forgot. All of that in the past week :( and I don't even have a turbo to look forward to....

It's what you like to do and when you do "finish" it you'll have tingle feelings inside.

That sucks, I've had minor set backs but nothing like that. I agree, power through it. Don't think of it as a warning to stop, but as a test to see if you are WORTHY!

My Miata is cursed too. My mom swore on it. I got it thinking...no Mom...it's because you guys don't know how to maintain anything, and keep driving when out of oil and overheating.

This car's on it's fourth motor...and still giving me ****.

Still not quitting though (at least not the Miata, maybe the turbo and all).

You should drive more offensive.

Thats why you drive offensively... sometimes I believe that being the scary driver is the safer driver. People stay the **** away.

Just keep doing what you love to do, and you will be there soon! I have the "slushbox" curse, and the miataturbo curse. second engine, still band-aids, still wrinkles to iron out, and still loving to work on it!!
My car's LH fender got hit in a parking lot, while I just went in to nab something really quick. ****** took off, out 500 bucks out of pocket for a shipped pre-painted. Stock driveshaft went out, seals in T2 turbo blew, and still no MS, WB, COPs, Tiens, LSD... and still no bonus pay money to fund such things.

Now that you mentioned the offensive/defensive driving, both accidents happened while I was just crusing and not being an *******. I havent had an accident while being a dick on the road.....

Its not neccesarily being offensive as it is being proactive. I have never had a car to car accident, and I am 27 and drive a LOT for someone who does'nt do it for a living. And honestly I drive fairly rapidly most of the time, especially around corners that I know in good weather

-Look around the intersection even if you are cruising through on a green.
-I basically never stay in anyone's blind spot unless I have to and I also avoid changing lanes with anyone the next lane over from where I am going unless I have too.
- Stay the eff in the middle lane when possible. I avoid the right lane like the plague on a 3 lane street. Its a kill zone. People cannot effing drive. I dont know if it is just the US, or the whole world or what, but people cannot effing drive. On a two lanes I stay right and leave a lot of space and try to keep my left open.
-If it is a white Chevy/GMC truck: RUN
-If it is a champagne Buick (gayest color ever, including the name): RUN
-If it is a Cavalier: RUN
-If the driver has blue hair or blue blockers: RUN
-If it is a Lexus SUV: RUN

I will seriously get away from any of the above with reason if its remotely possible.

I survived Phoenix this way, including a nasty roll over that came about a foot from wrecking my day/life/car.

Let me know next time you get hit by a tractor trailer. Then, buy another miata anyway.

Drive like a dick all the time, or else this is what might happen. About once a month I used to drive slow-ish, and that's when I lost it on 95. Never again.

Buffoon:

Ride a motorcycle for two years...and I guarantee you that you will never get in another car accident again, or at least not with someone hitting you.

And yes, most people stay out of my way when I'm driving like a lunatic...except the cops...and they're ********.

2nd that motorcycle bit. Makes you assume everyone around you cannot see you, that your invisible. You can't afford to get even a slight bump from a vehicle while your on a bike or your down.

Start with dritbikes to gain crazy skills, get street bike to get street awareness and then a rear wheel drive car and you can drive anything really well.
