Vegas bound!
Looks like my wife and I are going to Vegas sometime in November. We've never been before. We are looking for a NICE hotel to stay in on the strip, and suggestions of what to do while there (besides hookers, that's a given).

your wife is buying you a hooker? NICE?!!!
currently, IMO, Treasure Island, now simply known as "TI" is the best value/bargain in town. still a nice joint, has 'adult' themes now, decent location and can be had for < $125/night.
as far as strip clubs, we still go to little darlings. full nude, cheap cover, no liquor but most of the girls are still pretty fuggin hot.
buffet: Palm Casino's "Country buffet" is the best bang for the buck right now. and on Fridays, after you stuff your fuggin face, you can go to palm's KICKASS pool bar for some major eye candy.
the other buffet which we highly suggest is the rio seafood buffet, or the makino sushi buffets. makino's much higher quality than todai while rio's for the seafood buffs who don't need the extra crap that bellagio serves up.
otherwise, vegas is vegas is vegas. cuz i don't even go to gamble...

the last time i was there with my girl, we stayed at the MGM, in a "celebirty spa suite"
HUGE and very very nice. as has been mentioned before, though, chances are you won't be spending the majority of your trip in the room and would probably be better off spending the difference on more booze/gambling/etc.... or better yet, seeing better and more expensive shows.
if you like cirque du soliel, go see Ka. un-*******-believeble.

Back from the dead.
Vegas was awesome. Stayed at TI, ate ourselves into a near coma at the Rio, shopped a lot, walked a LOT, saw Penn and Teller, and cirque mystere.
TI was meh. It was ok, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to stay there again.
The Rio buffet was something to behold. While we ate a lot, we certainly didn't do it justice the way some folks did. We watched as one table consumed crab legs like it was some sort of sick assembly line. One guy ate I'm sure half his weight in crab legs. Seriously thought they two guys at the table were going to need an ambulance.
Penn and Teller was great, wish they would have done a little more but what they did do was very entertaining. Juggling broken liquor bottles FTW!
Cirque was fan-*******-tastic. Nuff said.
We are going again in december for out 10 year wedding anniversary. Luckily the wife won't be pregnant this time around so it should make the trip a little easier. Although it was awesome playing Roulette with my visably pregnant wife sitting next to me, sin city indeed.
As always, looking for good suggestions on stuff to do and consume. We are staying at the MGM, after touring nearly every hotel on the strip that's the one that appealed to us the most.
We are thinking of seeing the Criss Angel/Cirque show called Believe that starts in October.
