I never saw the want to put a 5.0l in anything. They make little horsepower and now ls1's and 6.0L's can be had for under $1000 so if you wanted to do anything I would do that. (If I was gonna go V8 :] ) On top of that it is a horrible representation of a swap. It is cheap in every way and it still looks slow I will never understand this. Why not just throw some rods and pistons in a 1.8L and boost the **** out of it for better results. To each his own and I am sure his buddies think it is the coolest thing ever. This coming from the guy with the car that is love or hate and no in between and on m.net its all hate.lol

Some cats like spool, others like instant torque on demand. Its also FAR easier to pull 400rwhp out of the 5.0 then it is the 1.8.

I can see if you really are going to modify the 5.0L because with heads and a cam they make decent power but in pretty much stock form like this one I would rather make the power out of the 4 cyl. Also I am bias to the LS because I have done a decent amount of work with them and know a ton of people with them. Plus I am a huge fan of fuel injection. I realize most swapped 5.0L are but this one is not.

I was talking more so about this one in particular. I did play with the idea of going 5.0L before my swap but the 2J was just to cheap and I am to stubborn to just let it go. I would rather walk into uncharted territory and fail then have the same junk everyone else has already, but that is just me personally. I would like to ride in a nice 5.0L miata and see how it compares to a boosted 4 cyl, my car, and an LS miata. Just to see the differences in all of them.

srsly? why the **** would i build a 1.8? it will cost me a few thousand more to have a super duper reliable 350hp motor instead of a strung out 1.8 lol
not to mention the drop in the tq curve for drifting.
miata motors are overrated. the only thing america does right is build big, guzzing, power making v8s. might as well take advantage of it
