Default Any amatuer herpetologists?

Does this look like a grey plains rat snake (Elaphe emoryi)?

I hada grey rat snake several years ago. It had the exact same colors and pattern, but I don't remember the "sunglasses"

Edit: I just looked at your link, mine looked exactly like the first pic.

I have a story about one biting my dog that would be too long to type here.... but it ends with the snake latched to his nose and the 85lb golden retriever freakin out like a prissy little poodle....

Finally identified it, it was a Texas Rat Snake, close to the gray but slightly different markings. Caught the bugger outside tonight.

I was kind of scared to look at this thread, thought I was clicking into a thread about STDs seeing how it was for herpes-tologists. I always wanted a snake as a pet, being from AK I never had any exposure to them. Ran into a corn snake last year thats the extent of my snake encounters.

By Crikie, look at this little fella... He rattles his tail just like his poisonious cousin the timber rattler, fortunately for me this guy isn't venomous... You can tell because he doesn't have the rattles associated with north american pit vipers....

Mark

PS - I feel a little dizzy after that last bite.
