1st race in A category this morning. Gentle rolling climbs, 4 laps, 23.5 miles.
https://www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=517962
https://www.strava.com/activities/3299695244
56 A/B's in the pen at the start but not all on ZP so not scored.
4th overall in A, 1st in 50+ class. One guy soloed away on 1st lap. A few guys got away on last climb, in no mans land. The chase group sorta worked to bring them back but nothing cohesive. I attacked that group on the last descent using an aero power up with about 3k to go. Just about bridged across before the finish.
averaged 302w, 4.2w/kg for the hour. Best 1 hour power in the last decade or so for me. This shit is making me fast.

The 1 hour high intensity stuff shocked my system for sure. I wonder if it will have good affect for your XC/Cross stuff once real life starts again?

I'm on Zwift, newer user. Never raced anyone on it, just ridden. I'm a recreational rider and I hugely prefer outdoor riding to indoor, so my zwifting has really dropped off the last month.

User name on Zwift and on strava is Clint Beastwood (gotta have some fun with it, right?). I'll try to use y'all as motivation to ride more.

Zwift races feel a lot like doing P1/2 crits back in the day. .5 mile flat lap through an industrial park averaging about 30mph for 60-90 minutes. High average and lots of 400-500w surges to hold your position.

For me, Zwift is uniquely efficient at making me dig deeper than is possible during solo intervals outdoors. Because of that, it will become a regular part of my training when things get back to the (new) normal.

Same here. Only joined Zwift and bough smart trainer because of lockdown herein California. I train 15-18hrs a week outdoors otherwise.

BTW, our early shelter in place is working. We will peak in the next day or two while state that delayed order are surpassing us in cases/deaths despite having much smaller populations. So yeah, Zwift for now.
