M.net is the same old same old year after year after year.

The only time I go there is if someone here links a thread. I don't have anything against Gary nor his site. But half the fools over there are so clueless and boring I just have no reason to visit.

R-speed is by far the absolute WORST miata specific vendor I have dealt with over the years. The last order I placed with them about a year ago got fucked up pretty bad. Service was non-existent and shipping time was a joke. I had good experience with them before, long ago. But the last order I placed was just that, the last order I placed.

These is just ordinary details that anyone would expect them to provide as a routine matter.

Anyway, it's not my fault they didn't do their homework and set themselves up to be embarrassed by the first customer that came along with an obvious question. Actually knowing what you're doing is what justifies people buying products from a company- if you have less expertise than your customers, they might as well save money and just buy directly from your pool of suppliers.
Basically, email him that. Tell him that you feel your concerns were legitimate, since R-speed has no background in motorsports and the company they ordered those coilovers from doesn't either. Tell him that you were bashed and insulted at every turn, even though you made a conscious effort to say that you had nothing against R-speed.

Apologize for ignoring his warning PM, too, and he'll probably lift the ban.

Pisses me off good, BTW. This is the kind of **** that gives m.net their sponsor-protection reputation. **** Rspeed, as well, I'm never buying a damn thing from them. This isn't the first time Fooshithead has made a public dick of himself wearing an Rspeed badge.

He doesn't publish his email and I can't send PMs since I'm banned.

This is basically horseshit. If they are going to pounce all over any person who asks an inconvenient question of a sponsor, they can stuff their website up their asses.

So it seems R Speed is suspending the sale of their coilover until they can get more info on it.

I sent this.

Quote:
I feel my ban was unfair. This is in relation to the thread in the suspension mods forum where we discussed rspeed's coilovers. I don't feel I was out of line and people pounced all over me like I was just shitting on rspeed for no reason.

Read the thread. Isn't it obvious that I was asking non-******* questions about the product? If you're selling a coilover package that costs over 1200 bucks, you have to expect people are going to ask questions like "who makes them," "where do I send them for rebuild" and "can I have shock dynos for the product or maybe even for the individual shocks?" These are just ordinary details that anyone selling such shocks would be expected to provide as a routine matter.

Anyway, it's not my fault Rspeed didn't do their homework and set themselves up to be embarrassed by the first customer that came along with a bunch of obvious questions. Actually knowing what you're doing is what justifies people buying products from a company- if you have less expertise than your customers, they might as well save money by buying directly from your pool of suppliers.

It makes you guys look bad to cover for sponsors when they **** up. It also encourages the sponsors to get sloppy and rely upon your protection instead of actually putting in the proper effort to serve their customers. Asking about QC, about dynos and about who actually makes the coilovers are REALLY basic questions they should have asked Fortune in the first place, long before they committed to a relationship with them.

I questioned Rspeed's reputation as a speed shop only because their reps decided to hide behind it instead of making the minor admission that they didn't have any data for the shocks they were selling. The truth is that rspeed sells maintenance parts and very minor upgrades. They don't engage in motorsports and they don't have the ability to evaluate performance parts in any meaningful way. This is almost certainly why they failed to ask the right questions of their coilover supplier.

Again, they set themselves up for this easily avoided embarrassment. I shouldn't be punished for pointing out that the emperor's privates are dangling in plain view.

Oh yeah, he unbanned me after a hilarious email conversation.

I basically got him 90 percent of the way towards admitting that he censors criticism of the sponsors. He insists that he has no policy of censorship, but when I actually got into the mechanics of how he moderates the forums and how he became involved in my thread, he became very annoyed and refused to continue the conversation.

I basically pointed out that:
-he freely admits to having a bannable offense of "sponsor bashing"
-he somehow didn't notice that all the people claiming I was bashing rspeed were either rspeed employees or had business ties with rspeed (they advertise on the clubroadster site for example and randy has a ton of their jdm body kit stuff)
-he admitted that I wasn't actually bashing rspeed and I had made legitimate points about their coilovers and their website

And concluded that either he
-a saw all this and banned me anyway because rspeed asked him to
-didn't bother reading the thread and banned me because rspeed asked him

Basically he doesn't have an "official policy of censorship"- he just happens to moderate the forums in such a way that anyone who comes into conflict with a sponsor will end up banned most of the time.

Im not yet, but feel Im about to be. Im finding it hard to not snap on the stupid noob posts. One thread just got closed about some guy wanting to get a big japanese rising sun flag to put on his hood to offend veterans and other people who might be offended by the flag. Now some other noob just posted a new thread like 6 threads up from the closed one asking about should he put a rising sun flag on his trunk. WTF! Jesus. I may ask some stupid **** from time to time, but goddamn, some of this stuff that goes on over there is just amazing. 95% of the stuff there is useless noob questions that are asked weekly. Trying to search for useful stuff over there is tough, so its no wonder the noobs repeat threads.

He's spent probably 10-20k on carbon fiber interior parts and useless JDM non-performance mods. To me, he is the typical Tein owner- a dorifto obsessed wallet mechanic who knows nothing about cars beyond what he reads in the ricer magazines and advertisements. His car drives like **** but you'll never get him to shut up about his pillowball mounts or his 2000 dollar jdm racing seats.
For the record, Randy does not run a roadster forum and he is far from a dickweed. I know him and his wife personally. You should be careful who you call dickweed. Randy's preference for his car is different than ours. He tried to replicate a Roadster that was a special edition in Japan. He did a complete LE interior conversion and he complimented the interior with his Nakame seats in the LE trim. He chooses to get things from Japan than here in the US. he also chooses that over high performace mods. That is his deal.

Further more man, HE DOESN'T HAVE TEINS, SO HE CANT POSSIBLY TALK ABOUT HIS PILLOWBALL MOUNTS. He has Tanabes. So your an idiot. He used to drive his Miatas like a madman, heavy into autox and so on. He just doesn't do it anymore. Yeah, I said Miatas, that is plural. He has owned them since he left the Navy, and has been in the Miata scene for a long time. probably since you were still in junior high. As far as the turbo, yeah, we give him grief on the local forum as well. I just isnt a priority for him anymore like it used to be.

Get a life. If clubroadster isn't your scene dont ******* go over there, and don't ******* bash people you don't know.
