Well looking over this thred I see that most of you are not from CA, Every gun show around here sucks, and it is just about impossible to get a ccw permit here. But when im not out I keep my springfield 1911 close by, .45 is my first line of defence then comes the 7.62. dang I miss Wyomings gun laws.

Understood. However, if this is your first/only pistol purchase, you may want to revisit your state's CCW licensing requirements. Many states will NOT allow you to test for licensing with anything smaller than a .380. - If this is the case in your state, KelTec and Ruger both make .380 micropistols that should fit your needs.

Another online resource to check current pricing averages is:
GunsAmerica - Connecting Gun Buyers to Gun Sellers Since 1997 - Guns For Sale & Gun Auctions B"H

Cheers!

The guy at the range suggested a .22 so SC must be an anything goes state. Wonder if I can use a laser site <G>. Actually, we hit the range that day (hmmm, not sure if I already said this in the thread or not) and took the shots that you have to take for the test. My wife missed 4 out of 50 and I hit all 50. That little 32 shoots straight!

Why do you need a CCW permit?

Makes me feel less gay when driving my miata.

I plan on getting my CCW because while open carry is legal in Virginia it is kinda frowned upon. I dont want to go through the hassle of legally carrying in the open, so my next best bet is getting my CCW.

My personal experience has been that gun shows are worthless unless you are:

1) Planning to buy mil-surp firearms/ammo
2) Going to buy ammo in bulk (more than 1000 rnd for pistol or 250 for rifles)
3) Looking for some rare/antique firearm/knife that will never be seen in a normal gun shop

Just buying a standard, off the shelf, keltec I think you'd be better off calling around to the local shops and trying to bargain on the price. I have been known to find the cheapest shop, then go to the next cheapest and have them beat it. Works well.

Keltec P32 HC-HARD Chrome Black Grip NIB : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com

At the gun show I would go with who ever is near 250$.

My wife jogs with a P-3at. You must have little hands, because I can't hold it right to even shoot it effectively.

Since they are the same size, I definately wouldn't have the .32 due to the fact it is even weaker than the .380. Hell, the .380 is marginal to me. But I'm not gonna tell you what to carry.

One other thing. Are you going to share a concealed gun between you? You should both find a gun that suits you and is comfortable in your hand and is natural to grab, hold, and aim in a hurry. You need two guns. And two permits.

And I would never recommend a semi-auto as a carry gun for a novice. But, if you do get one, practice, practice, practice. My .02 and a half.

Good luck.

Maybe you shouldn't be doing business with people where that is a possibility in the first place?

Because carjackings, robberies, etc, etc, never happen.
