Default Anyone familiar with Isuzu Impulse?

Hey guys ever since I discovered the isuzu impulse Ive been keeping an eye open for a decent one for a DD.

Well I finally found a good running and driving one for pretty cheap, I have the cash and am ready to buy it but and having problems pulling the trigger because of all the issues I had tracking isuzu parts down for customers.

So my question is does anyone have any experience with them or any information on them?

This is the type of car im refering to

Reliable, but the interior plastics must be getting a bit old by now. I've had good luck with Isuzu drivetrains for years.

When I was a kid a guy on my block had a charcoal grey one. I remember being really impressed by the Lotus sticker.

I have never seen one. They look pretty decent style-wise.

I know they were pretty damn quick for that era.

See proof:

Go ask on the Grassroots Motorsports forum, they know all things weird, random and 80s.

Haha, never seen one. RWD + turbo? Sounds neat man, grab one and let us know how it is.

They look kind of cool in an 80's way to me, i can dig it.

LOL, I remember several of those ads running. Hard to believe they were in the 80's/early 90's.

I was gonna drive and pick it up Sunday, but I found out it was non turbo0. I didnt even know they were available without the turbo til today.

Sucks because from the pictures it looked really clean, was red, and had just had a bunch of work done to it, plus it had the lotus handling package.

Guy only wanted 1700. I see haggard clapped out ones going for 1500 or 2K.

Whatever the search continues for a cool DD that gets decent mileage.

My uncle has the drivetrain swap into a gemini.

A few years ago he swapped blocks for a Holden Rodeo engine (which is a rebadged Isuzu Faster utility). The utes block is 2.6L.

His gemini has a t3/4 hybrid and makes just shy of 400whp, reliable as hell.

Megasquirt and turbo. You wouldn't keep it stock very long if you had it anyway.

Thats the plan though a cool dd that gets decent mileage to just drive and put some wheels on.

A girl in college I hung around with back in '93 had an '87 non turbo 5spd. I remember the interior being super 80's funky. They are pretty cool though and maybe a good candidate for an LS engine.

Me too...they're both hideous as a Delorean, but I'd pick the conquest/ starion.
