Really? I have heard very, very few good good things about the mosquito. It might look cool and be a sig and all, but its not very reliable. All of this third hand info though...

In regards to why? In europe it is considered rude NOT to use a suppressor. It is only the USA and our hollywood misconceptions that make us believe that silencers are "evil".

The only reason suppressors are even restricted here is due to anti-poaching laws. There will be a serious push made to remove suppressors from the Gun Control Act in the coming years from what I hear.

In regards to splittime - In Illinois they are Illegal unfortunately unless you are a class 3 dealer that has them for "demonstration purposes." Even for non dealers, it is best to own them as a trust, that way if you die your heirs can transfer the device. Otherwise it will be destroyed. (same with any full auto guns)

Check out http://www.guntrustlawyer.com/ for more info.

And buy it if you want it. When they become legal in Illinois I will be getting one for every firearm I own.

I have a friend with a Mosquito. Complete piece of crap. I pump 500 rounds at a time through the P22 (only the cheapest junk ammo I can buy) and it never fails. Also, the grip is the best I have ever felt on a gun. I wish they made all pistols like that. Feels like it was custom made for my hand.

FWIW, I did do a lot of trigger work and polishing on the gun before I ever fired the first shot so that may have something to do with it.

I agree that the P22 is a very comfortable gun to hold, I love how slim it is. I want one so bad and will also be looking into picking up the 380 version....

From what I have heard, the PK380 is not the best gun. It tends to feel kind of cheap and apparently can have some FTF issues. If you are picking it up just go to go to the range and enjoy, it will probably make a nice toy. I am not so sure I would trust it as a carry weapon.

The P22 would be the fun gun. I just really want something that has the same feel (comfortable, slim and easy to conceal) to carry....

I think S&W 422/622/2206's make the best .22 suppressor hosts. The barrel is set quite low so the iron sights are still usable with a suppressor, and you can get a threaded barrel bushing rather than having to get a second threaded barrel.

I have heard good things about the p99? I can't recall but its a similar VERY slim 9mm... I shopped it against the Kahr PM9 (smaller if I recall) and the Taurus PT709 slim. For the price I am going to give the slim a try because I already have a Ruger SR9c that I love that is close enough if I don't feel comfortable (safe) carrying the slim.

Disclaimer: I don't carry in Illinois - but I do have carry permits for other states.
