You get players from eveywhere for each position

either:

You match up every weekend head to head with another user in your league, points are assessed accordingly to the winner of each position.

or

Your league ranks each position with all the league users and assigns points from best to worst.

Basically, all you do is change a player out when he gets injured, and watch football.

The whole idea seems very immature for grown men to do. I don't get how this could be fun. Might as well enjoy Pokemon card trading while you are at it!

The idea of watching grown men play a made-up game, and rooting for one group of men because the franchise that's located somewhat near where you live happened to pay them more money than other franchises were willing to is pretty silly when you deconstruct it like it.

It's just another way for guys to bet on football without really betting on football.

It's actually more fun than you'd think it would be...

I enjoyed it, and it kept me a little more up to date with the league. Like Mark said, it's almost as fun as betting, and you enjoy watching the games and hearing the scores more.

Without FF:

Seattle beat someone...who the **** cares?

With FF:

The Seahawks won 17-7, with a touchdown pass to TJ Houshmandzadeh...who is one of my FF players...ROCK ON!

On the plus side, if halfway through the season you decide you don't like the players you drafted, you can trade them away for different players. Just like the rest of life -- it's never too late to start over.

You got something against pokemon card traking? I'm about to go pikachu on your hiney! Mommy says I can's say the "a" word cuz it's bad...

I feel like grown men make up the vast majority of serious fantasy footballers. It's a competition thing --> "If I were running this football team..."

IMO, watching sit-coms on TV seem very immature for grown people to do...but hey, that's just me. What do I know? I'm trying to have a conversation on an internet car forum while at work...

I don't know **** about FF (well, other than the basic stuff) and have never participated or investigated it. I did find out today that a guy I work with is flying to Vegas this week for some sort of FF stuff. I heard that he is joining a league or something that costs you $5,000 to get in. Very strange...

So, from everything I've read, it sounds like a gayer version of Dungeons & Dragons, yes?

I'm generally not a football fan, but fantasy football makes Sundays fun. You get so into your team that you will watch all of games with your laptop sitting next to you. The best part is that it doesn't matter if the teams you watch win or loose, only how your player performs.

Play once and you'll be hooked.

I do the same thing with Nascar. I don't care who wins the race. I only care who has the prettiest shirt, who is leading on the 10th and 45th lap, who has the 7th best lap time of the day, and who has the most vowels in their name. I sit there with a laptop and a bag of crack. Makes the sport much more fun.

Play once and you'll be hooked.

I think its the crack that your hooked on, not the nascar. You just use it as excuse to do crack. But more importantly, wana share some crack? I want to go sell it in north charleston until I find a job.
