I have friends here in TN that do that, we call it noodling up here though.

I've been in OKC for 9 months. These hayseeds love to take their teeth out and noodle. No, seriously. They've had two competitions, and the guy in my office placed well at one. He also litterally left his teeth at home one day a few months ago.

We don't do that **** here in California, but I've always heard it called "Noodling" too. Several people die annually because the fish will take them down, I call that social darwinism.

yeah... in the water the fish has the upper hand (and yours too). That whole breathing underwater thing is where evolution pisses me off... we should have kept that ability.

Well I don't know if he specifically takes them out to noodle, but that's an option for him.

No, the catfish live in burrows under the water, they stick their hand in there and the catfish gets pissed off and attacks. I've seen pics of four or five foot long catfish being drug out of the water.
