Atlanta emissions with turbo...
So a thought came to me, and I'm not sure why I didn't think to check on this before now, but...
I know there are a few of you guys running around Atlanta with a turbo. What do you do when it comes time to get an emissions inspection? You don't return to stock, do you? Or does nobody give you a hard time if you pass a sniffer test (OBD-I, obviously)?
I may change direction if I have to swap to stock every year.

No worries
You shouldn't have any issues getting through emissions. I have a copy of my last test results if you want to see it. You'll have to wait until tomorrow though (car is in the shop today).

To you Atlanta guys, I just saw this:
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/234525742.html
Has a hard top! If I had the cash sitting around, I'd buy it, keep the hardtop, do a tune-up, and sell the car to an m.net member. Free hardtop!

Yeah, I saw that around lunch time and called the guy and left a message. He never called back. Somethin's fishy.
I'll scan my smog test sheet tomorrow. I keep all her records in the glove box and won't see the car again until tomorrow.

The minimum to pass is so low for a 90 that I passed running a 2.3 liter leaking 60psi of compression past the head gasket into the oil galleys and a coarse tune on the Link ecu. They don't even open the hood anymore- they use an inductive pickup on the dashboard. If you fail, look at the results, tune appropriately and go back for your free retest within 30 days. You have to list what you did to improve the situation- like new plugs, injection cleaning, oil change, whatever.

Thanks guys. Good to know the turbo won't mess things up. I passed in Houston with the original cat, gutted by the PO. When I moved here, I put in a Magnaflow cat because I thought they were more strict, but maybe not
Onwards with my turbo!
