Birthday present suggestions for 30yo GF
Hi,
I need suggestions big time for the GF who is turning 30. She makes a big deal out of birthdays. I'd prefer not to spend too much, but not skimp out either. Any ideas for me? I'm at a loss. Thanks. |
Get her a bottle of wine and make her dinner then profit in the bed. Maybe take a tour at a winery or somewhere. What's the budget?
|
Maybe ~$500.
|
I feel lucky, i spent 40$ on my girl and she was thrilled. Are you thinking of a gift or an adventure, both? Anything shes interested in besides you?
|
She's not too interested in me. We've dated for 12 years. :vash:
Summary: she's an asian LA girl that likes expensive things like Chanel/LV/etc. I'm in school, so she knows I'm not bringing in the cash flow so she said just do something sweet and unforgettable. Hahah. Maybe I can take her snowboarding. She likes that. |

If she's turning 30, you may not want to remind her of that lovely fact.
|
Any suggestions on where to go in CA for snowboarding? I'm in San Francisco and she's in LA, so either Nor. or So.Cal spots are good.
Can you plan her bday itinerary while you're at it? :D Thanks. |
this is the mandatory tits or gtfo post

i always try to do something sentimental and tie into an emotional represion of enjoyment, but since i dont know your Gf i couldn't begin to fathom exactly what she enjoys.
|
A night with me.
Seriously, as for snowboarding, nor-cal is your best bet... Boreal, Squal Valley, Mt. Rose, Heavenly, Mt. Shasta, etc... along with a night with me. :D |
Tell her that she needs to grow up. BDay presents are for little kids (and spoiled 30 year olds). I'd drop her if she didn't straighten up...
|
Give her your sperm, stud.

Dude, 30 is when women reach their sexual peak. Obviously that 500 bucks should be spent on kinky things.
But seriously, if my mother taught me anything, it's that you can never go wrong with jewelry and chocolate. |

i got bad news, my female reports that this calls for nice handbag (required) and a nice dinner at some exclusive place (also required). probably requires $1k budget, maybe skimp with $750 if you can find a bag at an outlet or a really good knockoff.

WTF is it with broads and their expensive-ass handbags? Oooh, look, this one's made by so-n-so. It's only $10 in materials to make but it costs $700... for no reason whatsoever but to swell the wallett of the "designer" who figured out how to put a clasp on a sack made of fabric.
My wife bought a $35 diaper bag and I thought that was silly. It was ugly too, but she thought I wouldn't mind carrying it because it was light blue/brown checkers.. I made my own diaper bag out of a Vietnam-era general issue Army bag my dad used as a bookbag in college. I refuse to wear anything slung over my shoulder like a purse. I'm secure enough with myself (I mean, I drive a Miata), but I have dignity god dammit. /rant Sorry. |
GOD i love my GF. She likes being outdoors like me.
2 year annv. comming up. She suggested camping. :), and i'm taking her for a nice dinner also. If you need to spend $$$$ then to the curb. |

or maybe my view of asian la girls is skewed. i did marry one tho so dunno...

Pay someone to direct a high-class porno starring both of you. It could be very erotic.
|
When we where kids, B-day gifts where the stuff you wanted but could not afford. Now when we are grown up, the stuff you really want and haven't already bought for yourself are usually way to expensive for a B-day gift.
This is where giving an experience instead of a thing comes in. Give her a full day at the SPA: Massage + manicure+pedicure+whateveritiscalled+hustler+relax inginthesaunaafternringnailed for example. Or you can ruin yourself on jewelry. That works too, but get ready to pay delux to match the big 30 B-day. Good luck. |
$500 on a freaking birthday present? are you kidding me? bitch, please. If you're spending more than 1% of your annual income on a birthday present....holy fuck. Learn how to cook a nice meal, clean house while she's at work, have the table set for her when she gets home, and get her a big bar of swiss white chocolate for her to take to work to show her friends - that will make them extremely jealous.
Or else: buy her a dish rag and an oven mitt, and tell her to shut up and get the fuck back in the kitchen. Experiences > Things |
Take her to a concert/play/performance.
|
I think only JasonB understands...haha.
I presented the snowboarding idea. Didn't like it. Looks like we're going to Hawaii. |
Seems you've already found a solution.
I was going to suggest tossing her out of an airplane. 'Twould be memorable... - L |
here's the thing... you have to want to give the gift for it to be a good gift. if you are giving it out of some predefined requirement, then it's not really a gift now is it
|
How are you guys still together if you don't mind me asking? She the best you ever had?

Holy shit yes. I mean, if you love someone then that's great and spend your money but it really sounds like you are being had. How much of this Hawaii vacation are you putting on credit cards? |

Get her a personalized license plate that says "IM 30"
She'll love it! |
hawaii is great idea. i was just going to suggest getting her tickets back to asia and do one of those glamour studio photo shoot things the asian girls are all crazy about these days. (the concept is to get glamour shots while yer still hot).
since you got hawaii, get her a gift which pays dividends IE: http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ies/1982-angel http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ies/2030-kluay http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...eries/2083-kia http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ries/2376-yuko http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ies/2344-erica http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ies/2379-mikki http://wickedweasel.com/en-us/contri...ies/2238-cindy hawaii is chock full of places to enjoy life as it were |

1. I absolutely wanted to give the gift 2. The gift was less than $10 Hawaii? For a fucking birthday present? Thats some 25th Anniversary shit right there, wedding honeymoon even? The more you spoil her, the more she's going to expect to be spoiled. And this:

 Holy shit, I hope you're rolling in money trees. Your wedding is going to cost YOU $200,000 easily b/c she's spoiled and you're a pushover. |
^^ Very true, all though I am guilty of spending way too much money on my girl--at least I know I need to stop. I think if she is a keeper you could make her a card, buy some flowers, clean the house and make dinner and she will think it's the most thoughtful thing ever, if not then you have a money hungry, materialist women who needs to be on the curb. Just wondering does she make her own money?
|
i took my gf to italy for her 30th birthday... she said it was her dream. she never expected it to happen.
i took her back for our honeymoon last week. |

I don't think the $10 present still works after the 2nd year of dating. |

just kidding. |
OP >>
Go for any bag from here http://www.mulberry.com/#/storefront/c5721/ and dinner. I still get credits for the "bayswater chocolate natural leather" bag 3 years down the road. If not bag, shoes from christian louboutin usually gets extremely appreciated. But, with the low dollar, british and french luxury products will cost you. |
Make babies with her. /thread

Let me see...this is what we've got here:
1. She's completing the 3rd decade of her life, and pretty well considering herself off the "hot" side of the market. 2. You've been going out for basically her whole adult life. 3. Graduation and the beginning of career life around the corner. 4. She likes outrageously expensive and pointless accessories that she can show off/compare to friends. GET THAT GIRL A RING! |

I presented the snowboarding idea. Didn't like it. Looks like we're going to Hawaii. On the flipside my wife is very generous and buys me the most amazing gifts which are usually not cheap. She does not bitch about me buying computers and car parts, which balances out with her bag addiction. We all have our addictions... I spend stupid money on car shit.. |
1/2- 3/4 carat $200 Moissanite necklace. Looks better than a $2,000 diamond:
http://www.joyjewelers.com/modules/c....php?catid=185 Moissanite really is a superiour gemstone to diamond. Better optical characterstics. Side by side, the diamond looks fake. Diamond is only expensive because of the De Beers cartel and marketing. Do not tell her it's not diamond. She will never know. I've given this advice to several friends, and they reported back that it has worked. She will swallow every night for a month. |
