Default BJJ - hard, but fun

Went to roll for the first time ever. My last time doing martial arts was 30 years ago when I was a teenager. Came back from 2 hour session soaked in sweat, exhausted and knowing that tomorrow I will feel even worse than right now. But it was fun. Hard work though. Who else is doing it?

I actually manage the gym my powerlifting team trains out of. The owner is a 2x IBJJF at purple and brown under Cyborg Abreu. It's a seriously good atmosphere and we are very lucky.

Congratulations on starting. You should love it.

Figured I would update this, even though this may not be of much interest to majority of people here.

Today managed to beat a blue belt for the first time ever. The guy was much stronger physically and significantly heavier, but somehow I've pulled it off and armbar-ed him. Considering that its hard for me to find time and money for track vs a quick run to the dojo for an hour or two, it has been a great outlet for all the stored energy. Highly recommend BJJ to anyone who has ever wanted to do fighting/mma/grappling. Serious fun if you find a good place.
