If I'm towing a load I'd want to stay far, far, far away from anything with the GM 4.3 V6 in it. That's a fine motor if you're hauling a few dead hookers or an unladen swallow in the back end, but it sucks ***** if you need to stress it with a trailer - I speak from experience. A 3/4 ton Chevy with a big-*** LSx motor will get better mileage and pull a LOT better than a 1/2 ton truck with a puny li'l V6 when a car trailer is involved.

Diesel > gas V8 > V6

Dude hes pulling a miata and some wheels. You could use another miata to tow that stuff. the AWD astros have a towing capacity of 5000lbs.

Most people who plan on towing anything end up going overkill.

I tow more and heavier ---- with a 1/2 ton dodge than my friends who have diesels and 1 4tons.
