firgure i would ask here before i search through 100s of pages on google. i finally bought a xbox 360 and have a WII also. i want to "make copies of my games for safe keeping" question is what do i need to get/do in order to burn and play games on the 360?

Flash the 360s drive for one. You have to take it out, which I'm pretty sure voids the warranty, hook it up to a sata port on your PC ( if you don't have one I'm pretty sure you can't ) run like Slax or some **** and go through this whole process of reflashing your drive's firmware. Then you have to get DL dvd disks and burn them correctly. I read that anything less than high quality DL disks tend to not work. I've only done it once but from what I recall that's pretty much it. The chance for bricking your drive is somewhat high if you don't know what you're doing.

hmm, i will probally wait awhile to do that then. i would hate to void the warrenty on a brand new system.

usually to run any kind of copied/burned video games you have to mod the console...

Just some basic info since it sounds like you are not going to bother with it:

Making copies of your games is actually harder than downloading a 2nd copy of any games that you have on the XBox360. It requires a special drive to read the disc and a special drive to burn the disc. You need to flash the burning DVD drive with special firmware as well as flash your 360s DVD's firmware. I didn't have SATA ports but I bought an PCI SATA card and it let me do it.

I have never copied a game on the Wii so I cannot help you with that but burning a game is fairly easy. You do need to put a chip in your Wii so that it can read the burnt game. If you have the right version Wii you have to solder 5 wires. If you have the wrong version Wii there are like 30 wires you have to solder. I searched high and low to get the correct version. The wires you have to solder are pretty small. I pulled the traces off a couple of them and almost screwed the pooch. My Wii likes to lock up from time to time and I think it is due to the screwed up soldering:

Yeah, it'll void it, and if you play live the odds of you getting caught/banned are pretty decent since the latest patch from what I've been told.

And I do know you can fry your drive pretty easily trying to update the firmware.
