Can someone please tell me if this is real or not?!?!

If he could design a landing gear system that worked perfectly every time with zero failure points, and he went on a diet to offset the increased weight... then it might be worth it on landing... parachutes aren't infallible. But he'd still have to have a parachute in case of mechanical failure that left him airborne in a position that he didn't have a runway or a road that he could make.
Additionally, I don't see him being able to carry enough fuel to sustain a max-power take-off and still have enough to stay airborne for any length of time.
Everything with regards to aviation is based on weight and fuel capacity.
