Default Car Shipping / Transport Advice

I need help finding a reliable door to door car transport company.
there's just so many and I'm not sure which one to go with.
I'm shipping from New York to Mass, about 250 miles.

Does anyone with experience shipping cars have some advice?
Thanks

It's been 10 years since I did and don't remember the company.

UShip or UBid or something like that is always a good place to start.

250 miles seems close enough to just rent a truck and trailer and go get it yourself?

You're gonna pay an ***-ton for that vs. the cost of renting trailer for the afternoon. Get a Uhaul and borrow a buddies 1/2 ton pickup.
I just priced out picking up a flat-bed car hauler in Boston and returning to Syracuse in the same day... was like $70 with insurance.

When I shipped my racecar here from Ohio, I was referred to Jay @ Jay@affordableautotransportation.com by several different sources.
954-635-5170

New Albany, OH to Lake Forest, CA. $895.
$145 by CC to the broker (Jay) before pickup.
$750 to the driver at drop off, AFTER inspection of the vehicle.

Easy peasy, car was last on, first off, no transfer, open semi trailer.

Enclosed would be more, of course.
