Default Car Show Win!

I took my three year old to a car show today, and we brought the Red Wagon I built for him for Christmas for him to cruise around in. The organizers were so impressed with it that they awarded him the Under 21 Class trophy!! (And he was made an Honorary Member of The Generators, a local "invitation-only" car club!)

Is that a 1 Pinky-power ("PP") wagon? Impressive.

Where are the babe shots? I know that babes would not be able to resist this combination.

That is awesome! It's so great to see you get your son involved in something you are passionate about. My son is 9 months old. When he was like 3 weeks old, I bought him a 1972 Indian JC-54 junior motorcross bike. It needs slight restoration, but what a find! It runs and drives, it just has aging issues. I call it "character".

That's pretty legit... how about a bottle of Flinstones Chewables vitamins out back where the motor would be... and how come that kid doesn't have any tats?

Word. The ladies all loved Asa in his Hot Rod.

It all bolts to the tub. I thought about making a proper "frame", but wanted to get Moar Slam. It's a little bit flexy, but not too bad. BTW, dig the "convertible steering; the push handle on the back can be quickly moved to the tube on top of the "pitman arm", so that you can pull the rig and it'll steer to follow you, not that Asa will ever allow such a thing; he's all about steering it himself..

I was originally going to stretch the front a bit and mount a "six packer" cooler dressed up with PVC "headers" and PVC "Injector stacks" to look like a motor, but the added length made it impractical. Plus the steering shaft would've had to pass through it, so it would've sucked for carrying drinks and stuff.

Re tats, because his momma would cut mine off with a cleaver. ;^) However, one time at a street fair there was a "face painting booth", where he insisted on having a dragon painted on the length of his arm instead of some goofy crap on his face. He walked around with this tee shirt sleeve rolled up like Captain Badass all day, and wouldn't let us wash it off for a week.

Thanks bro- I've really been blessed with two amazing sons. My older boy, Stan, is almost 14, an honors student, musician and avid longboard skater, who I don't think I've *ever* had to discipline or punish in any way; he just does the right thing all the time. He's Very Serious- (losing your mom to cancer will do that I guess..) He's not much of a Car Guy, although he's been calling "dibs" on my Slammed and Vortec'd '59 F100 when he starts driving in a few years, so there's hope for him.. ;^)

Asa, the little guy from my second marriage, is a complete Wild Man; he goes *****-Out all the time. He's car-crazy, loves the Foo Fighters (he's decided that he IS Pat Smear), plays drums amazingly well, flirts with the Bettys and insists on riding in every hot rod that comes through my shop. He's a funny little guy with *strong* opinions and a big personality. Like I said before, I have a feeling that he's going to be Trouble, which I'm sure is some Karmic Payback for my youth.

That is not what I expected you to look like, given the username and pony accoutrements. Now I am remembering that you had the cool hotrod transporter.

Props for building a cool-*** wagon and spending quality time with your son while getting him exposed to the car culture. More pictures of the wagon and/or the wagon with some Bettys.

I should probably explain- "Pinky" is more than my "forum handle", it's my nickname in the Real World. My BFF and shop apprentice is a huge Jamaican Rasta dude with waist long dreads. One day years ago we were hanging around with a few of his Jamaican buddies at my shop and he had his dreads piled up on top of his head and wrapped in a "turban", which is pretty much SOP at the shop to prevent him from getting them caught in a motor or machinery. On this day they were really standing up high and I started goofing on him that it looked like he had his Auxiliary Brain Pack on today, and I started calling him "The Brain". He shot back that if he was "The Brain", that as his BFF I must be "Pinky", which elicited HOWLS of laughter from the Jamaicans, who immediately started calling me "Pinky", each time laughing their asses off. I didn't really get it at first; it just wasn't *that* funny, but they kept it up. Finally, after a few hours one of them explained that "Pink" is a sort of derogatory Jamaican term for caucasians, like "Whitey" or something... The name stuck, with Travis (my BFF) affectionately calling me Pinky around the shop, which sort of spread to customers and friends calling me Pinky, and the rest is history. My Dad still knows me as Johnny, but to a huge chunk of the rest of the world, I'm Pinky.

Joe Perez gave me the My Little Pony avatar in a brutal case of Avatarring and Feathering in another thread here, after I referred to some douchenozzle as "Brony"... I thought it was funny, so I left it that way. (I think it's locked anyway..)

This thread has secondary delivery. I completely skipped that other suspension thread when it was posted and realize I missed out.

However, I will back you up if you want to protest the pony avatar now. I gave up trying to take a stand against cats (murderous little psychopaths) but I am still fighting the ever-encroaching ponyism.

Get a better picture of the wagon (without the admittedly cool kid in it) and I'll start a letter-writing campaign to get your avatar un-ponied and possibly have your user title changed to reflect your hot-rod wagon fabrication expertise. I'm not above bribing the moderation crew.
