cheap ebay "stage 3" puck clutches
they are hit or miss... some people have great luck with them, other have throw out bearing failure immediately after install, some have horrible clutch chatter.
The rumor is that these are stock pressure plates with a clutchnet disk. I don't know how valid that is.
They hold power OK... but doubt they will hold 300 whp. The last I checked they were good for 250-275 whp.

Bought 2 from Eclutchmasters off ebay, a stage 1 and a stage 3. They both held up as advertised. I am still running the stage 3, 250/200 at the tires. Open track events and some conservative street mileage. I was careful to break them in btw. The stage 3 disk is a sprun hub 6-puck style.

It felt a little weird at first when you break it in, but it feels better now. And no, there is no chatter at all. Its on how you break it in for the first 500-1000kms you have to be nice to it, if not then you fucked your self over.
I have been using the Stage 3 F1 clutch for 6 months at 8 psi with no problems. Just make sure your motor mounts are good.

Even the SPEC clutch I bought came with a cheap looking plastic pilot bearing. The throwout bearing looks good. I went to NAPA and got a good all-metal pilot bearing. I am going to look at the throwout bearing to make sure there's no excessive use of plastic.
the bearing in my cluth was a total ***.

And people think these cars have homo-stigma. Well, the new bearing made no such claims, but the old one held up fine so no complaints.

The ebay clutch is pretty good up to 250 or so whp 230 on the safe side i never broke mine in and just abused the **** out of it until i swapped it out for a Xtreme setup from act. And in 15K or so miles it was abit more than half worn out. The feel is weird but totally doable the pedal is very ***** light.
Would the stock pressure plate work with a awsome disc plate. In NE Texas there is a old driveshaft and clutch shop. They custom make brass button disc plates. There wasn't any stronger drag racing disc you could get for our Mustangs. I had some friends pushing well over 500hp. The only down fall was your flywheel would wear and it would grab some on normal driving. But with the right pressure plate the clutch was almost indestructable.
How strong is the stock Miata pressure plate?
