It isn't my only car so it doesn't need to be my only public image. I have other uncool vehicles too. I also have a big gay pickup truck, a big gay big block musclecar, and a little gay English roadster. Oh, yeah, I also have a big gay boat. So what? Don't worry guys, you will become more comfortable with your identity as you grow up and become more mature. Well, most do. I have several friends older than me that are so insecure that they need to project a cool image to everyone at the expense of their credit being maxxed out and having houses they can't afford being foreclosed out from under them. And I have a customer and a couple of friends that were converted to Miatas after exposure to the lightweight cars. My customer had Corvettes and a Chevy SSR truck before the first drive in a crappy (seriously) high mileage Miata but he was hooked on the light weight and responsiveness immediately and bought it. |
Yeah, that's my story... Anyhooters is hard to take offense from fan boys that cannot tell the difference between a spark plug and their butt plugs.

^ haha that's great and I COMPLETELY agree! sure does drive me nuts when people criticize when they have no idea how to even work on a car. I'm no genus but I can roll pretty well with the rest on what gos where. I did build mine with help!

who cares what people say, the general public knows nothing about cars. all that maters is that you enjoy the car. if someone hates on your Miata it is likely not worth the effort to try to explain why it is a great car. I know why i bought mine, I know its the most popular race car ever built, I know it has more potential then just about any other car and I know it is cheap to maintain and run at the track. so anyone who gets upset by this bs should think about buying another car. I remember a guy in the PCA who sold his 944 and got a 911 just because people said it was not a real Porsche. all he wanted to do was go to the meets and hang out and if owning the 911 made him feel like a big shot then great, he did the right thing. still cant help but think its kinda sad but people chose cars based on image all the time so if you cant deal with a stereo type then move on, uou aint gonna change it.

What a pushover, the 944 is an amazing car. Oh well sheeple will be sheeple. I'd consider getting one way down the road if I didn't already have a miata. The two are quite similar in purpose and capability. However, the 944 is older, less mechanically forgiving, less of a beater, way more expensive for parts, etc. so to me the choice is clear.

Teh ghey? Please tell me it's true...
I'm trying to establish and project a 'Ghey lifestyle'. I've always felt like a woman trapped in a man's body. But, she's a lesbian and cross-dresses as a man to pick up women. The gay guys I know are always dressed well, money in their pockets and having a good time. So tell me wtf am I doing wrong? I've already got cats. I wear Hawaiian shirts and cargo shorts. (Long pants are for formal dress.) Mannerisms and vocal inflections? Check. So, I figure all I need is teh ghey car. So, don't be tellin' me these aren't gay or chick cars or else I'll just go back to my 5.0 Mustang and be a ''nilla with a nine.' Oh, wait, like that's not gay. Hmm. BTW, next time some Then invite them for Grasshoppers and Mai-Tais... |
+1. Avoiding marriage and reproduction has always been the key to having money in your pocket. I fail.

Suprisingly I have gotten just as many compliments on how nice my car is as how much of a chick car it is. The ladies always love it and my favorite was the zeezee top looking biker on the harley who turned to me at the stop light and said, "Nice car, I bet its fast." in a completely serious manner. That one caught me off guard. Then there is the occasional redneck that has a jacked up v10 pickup and tries to keep me from passing them. They always laugh right up until I downshift from right behind them and swing out for the blowby pass. Then they shut the ---- up

The real funny part is that chicks dig miatas. For realz yo.

I bought a Miata for a good Track car and daily driver. It is a good platform to start from and there are so many Miata races/clubs to choose from. The Miata can be vary fast with a little HP and money.
