First time someone linked to the original I casually glanced at it and thought to myself "well, apart from being underage and seriously disturbed, she's sorta cute in an Ally Sheedy / Breakfast Club kinda way."

Then of course someone correctly pointed out that she ain't a she. Which, quite honestly, I had to look rather closely to determine.

I still feel icky.

I certainly hope not! Though word of this must never reach certain co-workers of mine, who hold a pre-conceived generalization about all Miata drivers.

In all honesty I have to admit that from a purely scientific standpoint their conclusions seem valid at first glance. Prior to my moving out to the So Cal office from Cincinnati, their statistical sample size for Miata drivers at this location was three, which is a perfectly valid pool given the size of the office at that time (appx. 150 employees, as this was before they moved manufacturing to Illinois). Of those three, all three might have been inclined to invoke the :gay: smiley.

However, I have ascertained that two critical variables were unaccounted for in their analysis. All three of those Miatae had automatic transmissions, and none had forced induction.

your argument shoud have been enough to convince anyone with even half a brain, but keep in mind, you would have not been brought in from OH to CA if they didnt need you for the simple reason that they lack people with even half a brain there...i think they put something in the water over there
so i say this in my office "dont argue with an idiot, he will bring you down to his level and beat you with his experience" muahaha
IOW, just leave it alone, take it from me, im 22 yrs old surrounded by 36-58 yr old men, just leave it alone...they say i am going through a mid-life crisis for having a convertible, wtf, its not a convertible, its a miata :gay:

Well, in all fairness I get this primarily from one lady, the office manager, who in general finds a way to push everyone's buttons. And I do believe that she does this in jest, it's just that after three years you'd think she could come up with some new material. I tend to just roll my eyes and go back into the engineering area.
