A Crappy Picture of a Rare Car

This is a 1998 Lamborghini Diablo SV Monterey Edition 18 of 20.
I will try to get more pictures in coming days and weeks but thought I would share.
You might recognize this car from the early Need For Speeds.

Yuckity. I don't get the Diablo. It has neither the full-bore impracticality and ridiculousness of the previous Countach and Miura, nor the build quality and all-around performance of the later Murcielago.
Oh, and Chrysler didn't like the original Marcello Gandini design, so they had their in-house designers redo it. Exotic!

Honestly, I kind of like the Diablo.
The Countach looks like something that fell to Earth from outer-space. The Diablo looks like a Countach that has been reverse-engineered and thoroughly worked over by Giacinto Ghia. It's sleeker and more refined, but still hints at the fact that there's probably a dark-matter reactor under the bonnet.

Having grown up with posters on my wall of this and the McLaren F1...it's hard not to still like the car even knowing better now how far it falls short of its wall-mate.
I still like the countach more, but I have a soft spot for the diablo in my heart. For exactly the reason stated above (earlier need for speed games). Plus, when you are a kid and you think sports car, one of three cars comes to mind (sorry F1 is not one of them, I didn't know about it till 2003)...the countach/lamborghini, a ferrari, and a porsche.
