That is some funny ****... similar story.

On the Hawkeye, we have an electronic datalink that allows us place tracks in a system that's visible on the screens of every ship/plane in the battlegroup. We can draw lines and circles and all sorts of stuff. One of our junior Technicians did not know this. I was in the ReadyRoom when I got this call.

"Ready7, this is the Duty Officer."
"Hey Freak, it's Cunny down in Combat"
"What's up man?"
"If I wanted to draw a picture of something 4000 miles wide out of waypoint symbols and put it out over JTIDS, where would be the best place to do it from?"
"You could do it from the Hawkeye. We draw up attack ingress-egress routes and connect them with lines for a visual to make sure strike packages are on course... but you're only talking about 200 miles at most. What do you want that's 4000 miles long?"
"Well, I'm looking at a giant ****&***** right now on my scope. The ***** start in the Bahamas and the tip touches England. You might want to run out to 603 and pull the plug before the Admiral walks in... too late."

Fortunately, the Admiral had a sense of humor and it turned into the biggest running joke on cruise for months.
